The display is a ThinkVision X1 with built in audio. With the Display Port cable I am then able to output sound from the monitor and this works without any issues. I have now added a 4K Samsung television through HDMI to the same GPU, which also allows me to do 4K at 60Hz, albeit only with Wayland. In Xorg I can only do 30Hz on the television while doing 60Hz on the ThinkVision X1. It is clear however, that when it is set to 60Hz in Wayland, the animation on the television is much more smooth. The problem is that whenever I set the television to 60Hz, the playback of any sound is both high pitched and faster than normal. If I play a video in YouTube, the video appears to playback about twice as fast as normal and and very high pitched sound (everyone sounds like chipmunks). This is the case on the entire system (also when playing the video or any other sounds on the X1 display at 60Hz). Only if I set the refresh rate, on the television, to 30Hz again does everything play and sound normal again. It is only the playback of media that is doubled in speed. Everything else (animations, mouse, etc.) is still behaving as normal. If I change audio output to the ThinkVision X1 (or something else) at 60Hz while also being connected to the television at 60Hz, the audio stays high pitched and sped up. If I unplug the main display, ThinkVision X1, then the playback of media on the television becomes normal. I have tried with different +100 USD HDMI cables, that are all rated as HDMI 2.0 and the behavior stays the same. My system is Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. I tried in a LiveUSB 21.10, but the behavior was the same. I have an AMD Radeon VII GPU (Has 3x Display Port and 1x HDMI). As mentioned I cannot test it in Xorg, but that is only because it does not allow me to set the refresh rate to 60Hz. I am uncertain whether this is related to MESA, Pulseaudio or maybe Mutter/Wayland? In Firefox select Library → Downloads, click on downloaded deb-file Expected results: * gdebi-gtk is opened, the package installs normally after users clicks Install button Actual results: * gdebi-gtk is opened, the package is not installed because of vanishing of gdebi-gtk window just after clicking Install button Before anyone says this bug already exists... it doesn't (at least as far as I can see). It's just that a lot of similar bugs do/did exist where people have also experienced the same symptoms (of gdebi-gtk vanishing upon clicking 'Install'). So yes this is the same symptoms, but it must be a different cause as the circumstances are different and doesn't have the same resolution. The meat of it... Basically on a fresh install of Ubuntu MATE 18.04.3 amd64... with Firefox (or with Chrome if you installed that) go to any site that offers a .deb package and either... a) choose to open it directly from the browser (rather than saving it to 'Downloads' folder) b) or... save the file (e.g. to the 'Downloads' folder), BUT!.. open that file from within the browser itself. You should find that gdebi-gtk appears but vanishes the moment you click 'Install' without a prompt for a password, an explanation or the package actually getting installed. This bug has existed since the beginning of Ubuntu 18.04 however it's been largely confused with other similar bugs. I've had it on half a dozen machines and confirmed it exists with IRC users on #ubuntu-mate of freenode. However with *this* bug (compared to others) gdebi-gtk works perfectly fine if you run it from the terminal or just double click the .deb package from your file manager. It's the kind of bug which if you're a hardened desktop Linux user, you'd just work around it... I have no idea what I'm doing here in terms of submission processes, but I attempted to submit a patch for this issue: https://code.launchpad.net/~macg3/ubuntu/+source/gdebi/+git/gdebi/+merge/414211 I suspect I may have done something wrong in the submission process because "git-ubuntu import" is listed as the code reviewer. It was really confusing because there was also a bzr project for this package that is outdated, and it appears it has been moved to Git. Anyway, this patch fixes the issue by adding a separate python script that acts as the parent process for pkexec. I have the same issue. I have a Legion 7 16ACHg6 which I'm testing under Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS and 21.10 LiveUSB, and in both of them there is no sound out of the built-in speakers. Headphones are working fine though. 05:00.6 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Family 17h (Models 10h-1fh) HD Audio Controller hwinfo shows that there is a "Realtek ALC701" chip in this laptop. String without shebang returns 0 for pgrep -c $0 or 1 for ps aux | grep -c $0.
Solved with help of user Valrust from forum.ubuntu.ru, it's standart behavior
of the system.
In that case new copy of script runs as "bash" without agruments and try to
find /address/name.sh in ps aux returns nothing, but pgrep -c bash returns more
and more values depends from run copies.

and runs multiple copies of script from one terminal with & after scriptname.
It's returns "1" and "variable is 1" always.
Without interpretator setup, when string #!/bin/bash or #!/bin/sh deleted.
Run multiple copies scriptname.sh&
On every iteration it returns right first value and "variable is $value+1"
$scriptname.sh&
2
variable is 3
$scriptname.sh&
3
variable is 4
...and so on.
Without counting in first case it returns only string with grep, in
second case -- one more string with different PID and script name when
called from i=$(...) or i=`...`
