[Touch-packages] [Bug 1999258] Re: Please merge dbus 1.14.4-1 from Debian unstable.

2023-01-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package dbus - 1.14.4-1ubuntu1

---
dbus (1.14.4-1ubuntu1) lunar; urgency=medium

  * Merge from Debian unstable (LP: #1999258). Remaining changes:
- Add aa-get-connection-apparmor-security-context.patch: This is not
intended for upstream inclusion. It implements a bus method
(GetConnectionAppArmorSecurityContext) to get a connection's AppArmor
security context but upstream D-Bus has recently added a generic way of
getting a connection's security credentials (GetConnectionCredentials).
Ubuntu should carry this patch until packages in the archive are moved
over to the new, generic method of getting a connection's credentials.
- Add dont-stop-dbus.patch: Don't stop D-Bus in the service unit.
- Rework ubuntu/dont-stop-dbus.patch to actually make dbus.service _and_
dbus.socket to not be part of the shutdown transaction. And yet make it
possible to still stop/kill/restart dbus.service if one really wants to,
because it is stuck and stopped responding to any commands. This allows
allows to restart dbus.service with needrestart. However a finalrd hook
might still be needed, to kill dbus-daemon for good, once we pivot off
  rootfs.
- Rework d/p/ubuntu/dont-stop-dbus.patch to avoid a deadlock during boot
- debian/dbus.postinst, debian/rules: Don't start D-Bus on package
installation, as that doesn't work any more with dont-stop-dbus.patch.
Instead, start dbus.socket in postinst, which will then start D-Bus on
  demand after package installation.
- Prevent dbus from being restarted on upgrade
- git configuration changes for Ubuntu (d/gbp.conf, d/.gitignore)
- d/control: Add M-A: foreign to the new dbus-{session,system}-bus-common
packages to permit the resolver to use them to satisfy i386 dependencies
  * Removed patches obsoleted/merged by upstream:
- Make autopkgtests cross-test-friendly.
- SECURITY UPDATE: Assertion failure in dbus-marshal-validate
  - debian/patches/CVE-2022-42010.patch: Check brackets in signature nest
correctly
  - CVE-2022-42010
- SECURITY UPDATE: Out-of-bound access in dbus-marshal-validate
  - debian/patches/CVE-2022-42011.patch: Validate length of arrays of
fixed-length items
  - CVE-2022-42011
- SECURITY UPDATE: Out-of-bound access in dbus-marshal-byteswap
  - debian/patches/CVE-2022-42012.patch: Byte-swap Unix fd indexes if
needed
  - CVE-2022-42012
  * d/p/u/concrete-dbus-socket.patch: Add the "real" path used by the apparmor
autopkgtest to the apparmor profile in the test

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2002146] Re: Second Display not detected after software update

2023-01-08 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Usually the HDMI port is wired to the discrete GPU which is Nvidia in
this case. And it appears there is no Nvidia kernel driver being loaded.
Please use the 'Additional Drivers' app to install/reinstall one.

I see frequent (multiple times per day) hangs on my Lenovo ThinkPad X1

becomes unusable. Sometimes the cursor continues to move for a short
time after the fact. In order to recover, I must SSH into the machine
and run `sudo killall -9 Xorg`, which drops me back to the lightdm
login screen and then things work again.

I've also seen this on Debian sid on a nearly identical machine, and
there when upgrading to kernel 6.0 and Mesa 22.3, the problem
disappears. However, those are not available in Kinetic.

I've tried both `i915.enable_psr=0` and `i915.enable_dc=0` as boot
parameters and this does not affect anything. The problem has been
occurring since I installed Ubuntu on this machine when I got it on
  November 17.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 604212] Re: infobox does not show

2023-01-08 Thread Lee Bigelow
Still happens here with xubuntu 22.04.1
Can get it to work by setting env variable TERM to something other than an
xterm.
Eg, this works:

TERM=ansi whiptail --infobox "hello" 10 10; sleep 2

  A command as simple as

I was able to understand what whiptail is doing with this strace command :
   strace -e t=write -s 5000 -o trace whiptail --infobox Hello 0 0

When whiptail processes the --infobox option, it does this :
  switch terminal to alternate screen
  draw information box
  switch back to normal screen
  exit

The effect is that it is not possible to see the information message.
Infobox messages are supposed to be displayed for a long time...

whiptail should not switch screen in this case.

I think this is wrong, if /etc/ntp.conf is configured, it should use

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2002251] [NEW] libtool 2.4.7 needs to be backported to Jammy

2023-01-08 Thread Kamila Szewczyk
Public bug reported:

Hello.

I am a maintainer of the bzip3 statistical data compression program.

My software is currently being packaged for Homebrew, however, the
reviewers found an issue caused by an outdated version of libtool in the
Ubuntu Jammy which is fixed in new libtool versions (e.g. 2.4.7-5 on
Debian Sid which I am using). The following patch to the `configure'
file as generated using `libtool.m4' needs to be applied, since the
logic in `libtool.m4' in this particular version is invalid:

Furthermore, we are compelled to use Ubuntu Jammy (I would have upgraded
otherwise), but Github Actions hosted runners do not support it, so us
and other maintainers who don't keep generated `configure' files in the
source code trunk would be very thankful for this backport.

Title:
libtool 2.4.7 needs to be backported to Jammy

Status in libtool package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Hello.

I am a maintainer of the bzip3 statistical data compression program.

My software is currently being packaged for Homebrew, however, the
reviewers found an issue caused by an outdated version of libtool in
the Ubuntu Jammy which is fixed in new libtool versions (e.g. 2.4.7-5
on Debian Sid which I am using). The following patch to the
`configure' file as generated using `libtool.m4' needs to be applied,
since the logic in `libtool.m4' in this particular version is invalid:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1975788] Re: libopencv-core-dev package depends on wrong TBB devel package

2023-01-08 Thread Vladyslav Usenko
It looks like the issue was fixed in lunar, and it now links to libtbb12
instead of libtbb2: https://packages.ubuntu.com/lunar/libopencv-core406

Would it be possible to backport the fix to 22.04 package?

Title:
libopencv-core-dev package depends on wrong TBB devel package

Status in opencv package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
OpenCV 4.5.4+dfsg-9ubuntu4 in 22.04 is compiled and linked against
libtbb.so.2 from the libtbb2 package, which is correctly recorded in
  its binary packages, e.g.:

  # dpkg -s libopencv-core4.5d | grep Depends
  Depends: libc6 (>= 2.34), libgcc-s1 (>= 3.3.1), libstdc++6 (>= 11), libtbb2
(>= 2017~U7), zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4)

However, the libopencv-core-dev development package depends on libtbb-
  dev instead of libttb2-dev:

  # dpkg -s libopencv-core-dev | grep Depends
  Depends: libopencv-core4.5d (= 4.5.4+dfsg-9ubuntu4), libtbb-dev, zlib1g-dev

This hinders any development using both OpenCV and TBB2.
