[Touch-packages] [Bug 2062501] Re: Dhcpcd prioritizes (unconnnected) LAN adapter over WLAN, causing a 5 min boot delay

2024-04-20 Thread Albert Weichselbraun
Thank you for helping debug this issue. I concur with your assessment.
- this should be handled by aoetools (probably similar to the way nfs versus
nfsroot is handled).

Bug description:
After upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04, dhcpcd spends over five minutes trying to
obtain a DHCP lease for an unconnected LAN adapter during startup.
Only after this process times out, the boot process resumes.

Consequently, startup works flawlessly, if the laptop is connected to
the LAN, but takes five additional minutes, if that's not the case.

Please find below the console output (obtained by pressing "ESC"
  during bootup)

  exiting due to oneshot
Sleeping 30 seconds before retrying getting a DHCP lease

minutes) the standard boot process resumes.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2062501] Re: Dhcpcd prioritizes (unconnnected) LAN adapter over WLAN, causing a 5 min boot delay

2024-04-19 Thread Albert Weichselbraun
Sure - please find enclosed /run/initramfs/initramfs.debug

It looks like the problem is caused by `configure_networking` from
`/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/functions` which is called due to
the installed `aoetools` package (which calls `configure_networking` in
`/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-top/aoe`).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1898547] Re: neutron-linuxbridge-agent fails to start with iptables 1.8.5

2020-11-06 Thread Albert Damen
I have verified the fixed package, see attached terminal output.

Steps taken:
- check package version
- verify nf_tables is used
- check default chains have not been created yet
- run test case
- check if default chain has been created

After that I upgraded the iptables packages on my neutron and compute hosts and
rebooted them. Without any manual intervention the linuxbridge-agent was
started and I could start a new instance which entered the "Running" state and
had network connectivity.
The linuxbridge-agent logs did not contain errors regarding iptables after the
reboot.

iptables-nft: fix basechain policy configuration

Previous to this patch, the basechain policy could not be properly
configured if it wasn't explictly set when loading the ruleset, leading
to iptables-nft-restore (and ip6tables-nft-restore) trying to send an
invalid ruleset to the kernel.

Title:
[SoundCore mini, playback] No sound at all from Rhythmbox

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
After connecting via bluetooth the Soundcore Mini, I can get sound to
play through it just fine from e.g. the Chromium browser, but not from
Rhythmbox, which instead always plays from the laptop's internal
  speakrs.

In the bluetooth settings, Soundcore Mini is connected. In the sound
settings, Soundcore Mini is selected, and the "Test" button opens an
UI that lets me play test sounds, and it works. And indeed it works
for e.g. Google Chrome for a youtube video. But Rhythmbox plays
through the internal speakers no matter what. I've tried restarting
Rhythmbox, removing the ~/.pulse_secure/pulse/ folder with settings
and then running "pulseaudio -k", and then restarting Rhythmbox, to no
  avail.

The above looks like some Python 3 code ended up in a Python 2.7
document, given opener= was added in Python 3.3 it seems.

  New, upstreamed API:
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-kde/qt/qtmultimedia.git/tree/debian/patches/Add-audio-role-API-to-QMediaPlayer.patch?h=ubuntu

More information about Qt 5.5 at
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/QtTesting

  The plan (2015-11-02):

Patch some components to work with both old API & Qt 5.4 + new API &
Qt 5.5 - qtubuntu-camera, qtubuntu-media to detect at compile time and
  Unity 8 at runtime.

Pulseaudio and media-hub would land only to xenial, switching to the
new API as part of the Qt 5.5 silo.

Clock and dropping-letters drop the audio role usage as it's not
supposed to be used in those.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1646648] Re: Unity8 crashes with SIGSEGV in qtmir::MirSurface::onCloseTimedOut () at ./src/modules/Unity/Application/mirsurface.cpp:917

2017-03-21 Thread Albert Astals Cid
Is this "fixed" ?

If you look at
https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/ded3a210b92755ec7de56b1bb4097103984eb123
all the "new" reports are either from 15.04+armhf (i.e phone) running an
"old" version (20161114) or amd64 also running an "old" version
(20160922).

The first one i can find that is "new-ish" is
December 27, 2016 using 8.15+17.04.20161207.1-0ubuntu1

So maybe we have fixed it since and that's why no other 17.04 version
crash has happened?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1673415] [NEW] QDockWidgets don't work at all

2017-03-16 Thread Albert Astals Cid
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce:
 * Install tiled
 * Start tiled
 * Press the small square button next to properties
 * That should undock the properties widget, make it a window and you should be
able to drag it freely around the desktop, that doesn't happen
 * Alternatively, drag the properties widget from the "properties" text, you'll
be able to drag it, but only inside the window, instead of around the desktop,
and once you release it, you can't drag it anymore

To "reset" the docked status, remove ~/.config/mapeditor.org/tiled.conf

  Steps:

  - Launch kate
  - Right-click on its main, text editor, area. A pop-up menu should show up.
  - Hover your mouse pointer over the "Bookmarks" menu item. A sub menu with
"Set Bookmark" and "Clear All Bookmarks" options will show up.

  Expected outcome:
The sub menu opens immediately and the mouse pointer is responsive throughout

  Actual outcome:
unity8 freezes for a bit, with mouse pointer becoming unresponsive, before
finally resuming and showing up the submenu.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1671042] [NEW] Support application indicators for Unity8

2017-03-08 Thread Albert Astals Cid
Public bug reported:

It seems there's no plan to support application indicators for Unity8

I have an application called rsibreak https://userbase.kde.org/RSIBreak

It tells you to stop typing/using the mouse for 20 seconds after every
10 minutes of use.

Basically the application has no window, just a statistics dialog and a
configure dialog.

The "view" of the application is the application indicator that contains
a graphic display that shows how much time is left for the next break.

If we don't support application indicators the user will not see
anything after he launches the application.

But Unity8+ qtubuntu send to the application
    QKeyEvent(KeyPress, Key_C, ControlModifier, text="c")

This is most likely because QMirClientInput::dispatchKeyEvent is using
xkb_keysym_to_utf8 to get the text of the event instead of using
  xkb_state_key_get_utf8

This breaks for example Konsole that expects the correct text to be

Ubuntu Components is hard on the disk and CPU when loading @gu images

Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
   * Take the following simple example of a listview with an image.
   * run it with strace qmlscene
   * scroll the list to the bottom

I understand that some of this overhead is needed since we need to
find the best @gu image for the given grid units, but doing it again
and again for the same file seems a bit of overkill, maybe we could
  cache that?
