[Touch-packages] [Bug 2024666] [NEW] Touchpad does not respond to on/off controls
Public bug reported: Since upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04 I have been having trouble with both Wayland and Xorg. Xorg seems the most stable of the two, so I am attempting to use it, however, I am having an issue with the touchpad that is causing problems. Specifically, the touchpad is not responding to the controls as defined in the settings. I have selected the "Disable while typing" option for the touchpad, however it is still active full-time. This is continually causing problems as I bump the touchpad with my palm while typing and it randomly selects something else on the display or moves the cursor to a new location. This makes data entry almost impossible with the touchpad active. When I attempt to turn it of, again it does not respond to the selection. [Touch-packages] [Bug 2024603] [NEW] Selecting an alternate keyboard does not work and keypad is active even when typing
Public bug reported: Since upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04 I have been having trouble with both Wayland and Xorg. Xorg seems the most stable of the two, so I am attempting to use it, however, I am having two problems that are causing problems. 1) I have added an alternate (Spanish) keyboard. This shows up in both the tray and under the keyboard settings, however, when I select the alternate keyboard it just reverts back to English and does not allow entry via the alternate keyboard. This part does work properly in Wayland allowing me to select either the English or the Spanish keyboard for the current window as I have selected in the settings 2) The touchpad is active full-time even with the "Disable while typing" options selected. This is continually causing problems as I bump the touchpad with my palm while typing. While the second issue is mostly an annoyance, the first makes Xorg unusable as I need to routinely switch to the Spanish character set for documents and web entry. In both cases Xorg is not responding to or acknowledging the selections. Neither of these were problems with Ubuntu 20.04 prior to upgrading. [Touch-packages] [Bug 2008733] [NEW] Window leak-through
Public bug reported: I notice that since upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS I am getting a lot of leak-through with open windows. That is when I move the mouse over a window it brings up an informational popup from a window obscured by the active window. Additionally, the active edges of the windows seem to have large boundaries around the active window. That is if I click on a window showing on the screen, but the edge is close to the active window, it will not activate the window on which I clicked. There was a little of the behavior in 20.04 when the windows edges were close, but it is extreme in 22.04 in that even with a 15 to 20 mm of the underlying window showing it will not recognize that I have selected a different active window.
