[Touch-packages] [Bug 1435040] Re: Ubuntu Phone does not connect to car-bluetooth

2016-12-11 Thread Dadio
Comment on #171 (Mons ter Wade)
I have an Audi but with a UHV.
With my car-kit, you are right that the pairing/connecting works better when
the auto-connect option is disabled:
- Once paired, the connection happens automatically
- The phone says it's connected
- The car says there is no phone connected

Nothing else happens...

2016-12-09 Thread Dadio
With OTA-14 on a Meizu MX4 and a Audi Car kit.

Progress:
The phone recognize the Audi Car Kit with the right name (description)
It is recognised as a headset like with our Peugeot (on which the bluetooth
works)
I select the Audi Car Kit and the phone indicates it tries to connect.

Problems:
The phone doesn't ask for a password
The phone stops connecting to the Car Kit

There are mice on the market that claim to be keyboards as well. This
inhibits OSK. We can try and find out how many keys they have and be
  smart about it.

Regardless, we should have a way of forcing the OSK, especially on
touch-enabled devices. Whether it's triggered by a touch (as opposed
to mouse click) on the text area, or with a button in the text field
(replaced with the clear icon when you start typing). Another option
  is the copy/paste dropdown.

  :

The on-screen keyboard should appear if:
  * no external keyboard is connected, and a text field becomes focused; or
  * an external keyboard is connected, but the most recent text typed anywhere
was with the OSK, and a text field becomes focused; or
  * an external keyboard is connected, and the most recent text typed was with
an external keyboard, but you tap in the already-focused text field. (App
developers are responsible for emulating this behavior in typable areas that
are not text fields.)

  == original description ==

  1. Boot nexus 7
  2. In the login screen, test that OSK works by tapping the password textfield
  3. swipe keyboard back down after testing it works
  4. Turn on Bluetooth mouse to get a mouse cursor
  5. Click on password textfield

OSK doesn't pop up, touch tapping on the field doesn't bring up the
  OSK anymore either.

ie. The login screen is not usable with mouse connected - cannot type
in password via OSK since it doesn't come up when clicking the
  password textfield with mouse.

See attached screenshot. Focus on textfield. Would expect OSK to show
  up.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1435040] Re: Ubuntu Phone does not connect to car-bluetooth

2016-09-23 Thread Dadio
Did the update to OTA13 on a Meizu MX4 and trying to connect to an Audi
bluetooth system:

- First, the phone sayd it was connected to the bluetooth system but the car
didn't agree.
- After removing the known devices on both the car and the phone (and
restarting the phone)
the phone doesn't detect the car bluetooth system.

So for me, big step backwards. (Hoping on one step backwards on OTA13
and two steps forwards on OTA14...)

If new debug info/logs are useful, please let me know...

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1435040] Re: Ubuntu Phone (BQ E4.5) does not connect to car-bluetooth

2016-07-28 Thread Dadio
Did the update to OTA12 on a Meizu MX4 and trying to connect to an Audi
bluetooth system:

Small step forwards...

Works:
- Car bluetooth is detected
- The car bluetooth is shown (not just unknown...)
- If I press 'connect', I'm asked for the pincode
- If I enter the correct pincode, ubuntu says it's connected

Doesn't work:
- Altough ubuntu says it's connected, the car doesn't agree: no phone
  connected...
- If I place a call (using the phone), the bluethoot indicator icon turns
white, but the sound go's through the phone speaker. Nothing happens on
  the car display
- If the phone is restarted, it can't connect again with the car system
- If I remove all the bluetooth devices on the car system, I can
reconnect using the pin. But strangely, the signal strength is 'none'?
Only removing the connection on both devices, gives me back 'strong'
  as signal strength...

I also have a Peugeot. For that car everything works excellent (even after
removing the connections and connecting again):
- Calling trough bluetooth
- Syncing contacts
- Listening to music trough bluetooth

If new debug info/logs are useful, please let me know...

** Summary changed:

- Ubuntu Phone (BQ E4.5) does not connect to car-bluetooth
+ Ubuntu Phone does not connect to car-bluetooth

  it.

  - Create an event in Google Calendar (using browser calendar.google.com), at
12pm local time, call it "Test"
  - Ensure your timezone on device is set to your correct timezone (UTC -4 in
my case) by accessing system-settings
  - Import Calendar from Google account (by setting up online account for
Google)
  - Verify the "Test" event shows up correctly in Calendar app at 12pm
  - Now edit the event and change the description to "Test, 123" and save the
event.
  - After the sync runs (wait one or two minutes), open your browser and reload
your google calendar

  Expected result:
  - Event should be called "Test, 123" and still at 12pm local time

  Actual results:
  - Event is correctly updated to show "Test, 123" but time has shifted to 3pm
local time

We should not be modifying the timezone when editing the event

[Touch-packages] [Bug 943104] Re: recipient address: comma inserted when pressing AltGr

2015-07-26 Thread Dadio
On 15.04 the problem still occurs. And as of this version of Ubuntu,
disabling the HUD short-key as mentioned in #23 doesn't fix it any more.

This bug is bugging me starting from the beginning of Unity desktop!!!

Please could somebody look into this?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1435040] Re: Ubuntu Phone (BQ E4.5) does not connect to car-bluetooth

2015-07-08 Thread Dadio
Confirm...

With a Meizu phone, this is also an issue.

The phone connects with my Audi carkit after a few tries. The connection
drops again after 30-60 sec.

If I can help with more info or with testings, let me know...
