[Touch-packages] [Bug 1607237] Re: Accented dead characters (áéíóú) not working on external keyboards

2016-07-29 Thread Einar Mostad
The accented characters work on Xapps on Ubuntu touch (Firefox,
LibreOffice) for me, but not in Ubuntu Touch apps. I'm using OTA 12 on
BQ M10 with Norwegian keyboard layout.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1607785] [NEW] Xapps disappear from launcher on restart

2016-07-29 Thread Einar Mostad
Public bug reported:

Every time I use Firefox, LibreOffice writer etc, I swipe in from the
left to get to the launcher, long click on their icons and select "Pin
to launcher" (not necessarily correct phrase, I'm on the Norwegian
translation). My icons for the Xapps stay in the launcher, but after a
restart, they are all gone and only Ubuntu touch apps stay there. This
is annoying, as I am frequently using the Xapps and would like to launch
them from the launcher in stead of from the Xapps scope.

I am using OTA 12 on Bq M10 FHD.

** Affects: unity8 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1565236] Re: AltGr not working on external keyboards

2016-07-29 Thread Einar Mostad
It seems to be only partially fixed also for the Norwegian keyboard
layout.

For the Norwegian keyboard layout everything works in the Xapps (both
special glyphs like @$£[]... and accented characters like àáêëñ...).

In the Ubuntu touch apps, only special glyphs work, but not accented
characters.

HTML5 embedded HLS stream does not play

Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
When trying to watch live TV and old TV programmes on tv.nrk.no with
settings set to "HTML5 player with HLS", the videos never load. Since
flash is not an option, the Ubuntu touch media player app does not
play HLS streams (master.m3u playlist files) and Firefox doesn't play
them either, there is no way to watch Norwegian state broadcasting on
Ubuntu touch at the moment. NRK has three of the most watched
Norwegian TV channels, so this is a big deal for Norwegian phone and
tablet users. I am also filing a bug report on the media player app
that it does not play HLS streams, which would solve the problem (or
if it does, it is not associated with the downloaded file from the
Ubuntu touch browser, anyway.) On iOS and Android, there are dedicated
apps from Nrk and on Ubuntu 16.04 desktop I use VLC to play the HLS
  streams (master.m3u playlist files).

Tv.nrk.no also has a beta of a new player (they do not say which
technologies they use, but say that it will use less processing power
and be useable on anything but an Amiga), but the new beta player does
not work on the Ubuntu touch browser either (or Firefox on Ubuntu
  touch).

I am on OTA 11 on a Bq M10 FHD with Norwegian localisation.
