The package openprinting-ppds does not contain a single ppd! Downloading via a questionable script by http is as unsafe as downloading by hand. Moreover it is not suitable for offline use. It is the same with the Fommatic/pxlcolor driver; see Bug 1377177. The proprietary drivers continue to work well. However they are not shipped by default with any distribution.
