[Touch-packages] [Bug 1990216] Re: backport fix for "OpenSSL 3 cannot decrypt data encrypted with OpenSSL 1.1 with blowfish in OFB or CFB modes" to Jammy

2023-06-25 Thread Fredrik Wendt
If I read upstream correctly, a fix for this regression was put in
master over a year ago (May 2022). Any update to when this will be
rolled out on Jammy/current LTS?

Bug description:
OpenSSL upstream implemented a fix for their issue #18359 "OpenSSL 3 cannot
decrypt data encrypted with OpenSSL 1.1 with blowfish in OFB or CFB modes"
https://github.com/openssl/openssl/issues/18359
as of libssl3 3.0.4 (and thus it is included in recent libssl3 versions in
Kinetic).

Could this fix be backported to libssl3 in Jammy?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1522675] Re: Warning messages about unsandboxed downloads

The same (or very similar) privilege issue comes into play when
downloading sources _as root_ under /root, such as with the command
'apt-get source linux-image-extra-4.10.0-19-generic'.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1428952] [NEW] strings in UI incorrectly displayed with lots of spacing

2015-03-05 Thread Fredrik Wendt
Public bug reported:

I'm on a ThinkPad X1 Carbon 3rd gen and I've installed Ubuntu 14.10
using the whole disk. Initially after install, everything was just fine,
but after running 'aptitude upgrade -y', menu items and strings in UI
(button labels, labels, ...) are incorrectly displayed.

The attached image is a screenshot of the select file dialog, opened
while reporting this bug. In the left pane, the text for the selected
entry should read Bilder, and the third entry from the top should say
ceda. In the list of files, the bottom entry should say x1-x11-issue-
02b.png' (and date columns should say 'tisdag').

As I move the mouse over the left pane (folder/favorite selection), the
bottom line changes back and forth between the correct Hämtningar and
incorrect Hämtninga. A similar pattern goes for the Open button: you
can see that the text right now is Öppna but the p characters are
drawn with different color. Once hovering over the button, it's drawn
correctly.

Things I'd like to try:
* use older video driver - but I don't know how to do that
* use Xfce

** Affects: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Attachment added: Screenshot of rendering issue

[Touch-packages] [Bug 52321] Re: Displayed Image on TFT is 2 pixels off, of what it normally should be

I too no longer have my hardware where this bug was valid and easily
reproduced.

Displayed Image on TFT is 2 pixels off, of what it normally should be

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-trident

I have an older Laptop, Gericom Supersonic A440 1Ghz.
It has a 1024x768 TFT Display and a Trident Cyberblade i1 Graphics Adapter.

When I use the trident driver in xorg.conf, the displayed image is 2 pixels
off to the right. That means, I have 2 lines of pixels missing at the right
side of the display and 2 black/blank lines at the left.
I bootet Knoppix, and there I didn't have this problem (though it was using
the trident driver!)

The only way I can have it working in kubuntu, is to use the vesa driver,
but then X needs more of RAM, than with the trident driver.
So this should be fixed, maybe just by updating the trident driver to the
most recent version?
