[Touch-packages] [Bug 570790] Re: Crashes when pgci_ut handle is NULL
Fixed upstream. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to libdvdnav in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/570790 Title: Crashes when pgci_ut handle is NULL Status in “libdvdnav” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I'm trying to use VLC 1.0.2 on Ubuntu 9.10. This version of Ubuntu uses libdvdnav_4.1.3 When playing most DVD iso files, this combination of VLC and libdvdread works well. However, some iso files causes VLC to crash at start-up with the error message shown at the bottom of this report. It seems that libdvdread aborts if pgci_ut is set to NULL. I've tried removing the assert() calls that are causing the abort and instead returned error values. When that happens, VLC spits out an infinite loop of libdvdnav: *** pgci_ut handle is NULL *** At the moment, I'm uncertain whether the issue is with libdvdread not handling the error properly, or if it is VLC that fails to catch the issue. I've found the latest version of mplayer can play the DVD iso files, so it's not just a case of a corrupted file. [Touch-packages] [Bug 512576] Re: Totem does not play full unscrambled dvd
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 466389 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466389 ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 466389 totem hangs when try to play DVD -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to libdvdnav in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/512576 Title: Totem does not play full unscrambled dvd Status in “libdvdnav” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Binary package hint: totem Ubuntu karmic, fully upgraded. I have a set of commercial DVDs (Ghost in the Shell, polish edition) (all of them are reported as unscrambled, or not encrypted, by libdvdcss2, which I do have installed). When I try to watch them in totem (either by choosing totem in the dialog window which shows up just after the cd is inserted, or by calling `totem dvd://`), totem starts up but does not show anything. The application does not hang or crash -- simply nothing is played, the video is blank, I cannot press play button and the video properties are blank. The same set of DVDs do work (as in: can be played) when I launch totem by `totem dvd://2` (or any other valid title number)... as long as the title chosen is not 1 or the title with menu (this varies in different DVDs). So: `totem dvd://1` does not work, `totem dvd://2` works, ... `totem dvd://10` works, `totem dvd://11` does not work (and it contains the main menu). For numbers which work the video properties pane shows all the data correctly. Xine from `xine-ui` package plays them correctly and shows the animated menu... but I cannot manipulate it (its DVD menu controls does not work). mplayer does play all the DVDs too, again I could not manipulate the menu there (even with `-dvdnav` option). I would provide a backtrace, but none of the programs crash... so I think it wouldn't do much. I'm filling this to totem because it doesn't even show the menu. The funny thing is, that totem used to work correctly before an upgrade somewhere during last Christmas; if someone points me to an archive with older karmic packages, I'd test them.
