[Touch-packages] [Bug 1422070] Re: systemd-tmpfiles[2947]: Two or more conflicting lines for /var/log configured, ignoring.

2016-02-10 Thread John Drinkwater
This bug still exists in 15.10 - if it is expected, it should not be
producing a warning in syslog, as it contributes to accidentally
glossing over actual issues that appear.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1535906] Re: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11

2016-01-29 Thread John Drinkwater
> one wouldn't want to post crash files manually to a report.
I was fine with the content of the crash report being public after looking
through it on my system

> sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_usr_bin_metacity.1000.crash
I ran that, and it submitted and, er, have no reference to share

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1535906] Re: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11

2016-01-28 Thread John Drinkwater
Excuse my slow reply, internet has been out for a week. There’s only one crash
file that coincides with the session being pulled down, though it is not from
the event that produced the above attached log files.
I hope it helps.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 467300] Re: motd-legal files don't respect XDG_CACHE_HOME

2016-01-19 Thread John Drinkwater
Reasons to want this ‘configurable’ is to match the rest of the system, as this
is one of the few remaining binaries that writes into ~/.cache
john@joran ~ ❯ tree .cache
.cache
├── motd.legal-displayed
└── upstart

As everything else already behaves:
john@joran ~ ❯ set | grep XDG_.*_HOME
XDG_CACHE_HOME=/home/john/settings/cache
XDG_CONFIG_HOME=/home/john/settings/config
XDG_DATA_HOME=/home/john/settings/data
XDG_STATE_HOME=/home/john/settings/state
john@joran ~ ❯ tree $XDG_CONFIG_HOME | wc
   2525   11435  126830

Current solution is having this module not run instead.
