Bug description:
  Tested in Virtualbox VM.
Ubuntu MATE works after force-reboot, but after I click on "restart now"
after completing the installation, the screen shows me this:

  req_error: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 1488792

And the above message loops a couple times, and wont turn off the
  computer to restart.

No error happens after force reboot, and the OS boots properly, but
I'm curious as to what's causing this.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1572244] Re: Kubuntu requires that the WiFi password be entered twice before WiFi can be used

2018-03-13 Thread Marco Parillo
Fix verified (originally posted to:
https://phabricator.kde.org/T7981#132629):

I zsynced kubuntu-ci-stable-bionic-amd64.iso.zsync
I dd'd the ISO to a usb thumb drive
I booted the thumb drive
I saw the WEP network, selected it, and entered the key all in Network Manager
from the tray.
I did NOT get the pop-up to re-enter the WEP password.

  Bug reported against network-manager
Every time I tried the live Kubuntu 16.04 image on a Lenovo t420 laptop it
requires to enter the wifi password twice before I can use the wifi. Once from
the network icon panel, then second time a prompt on the desktop to enter the
wifi password.

I do not know if this is typical behavior of Kubuntu since I usually use GTK
base desktops.
I guess network-manager is the right package to file this report against.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1655631] [NEW] Internal Microphone works on 16.04, but not on ZZ

2017-01-11 Thread Marco Parillo
Public bug reported:

My microphone (built in, or using the plug-in jack) works just fine in
16.04 with the Kubuntu backports PPA, but not in ZZ. This is in two
partitions on the same laptop. I think System Settings multimedia looks
the same in both 16.04 and ZZ.

Since it is the same piece of HW, and with the backports, I assume the
app layer is almost identical between 16.04 and ZZ, I wonder if it is
lower down in the stack.

On 16.04, uname -a: Linux mparillo-HP-EliteBook-8440p 4.4.0-57-generic
#78-Ubuntu SMP

On ZZ, uname -a: Linux mparillo-HP-EliteBook-8440p 4.9.0-11-generic
#12-Ubuntu SMP
