[Touch-packages] [Bug 1945288] Re: Search domains missing from resolv.conf stub
Happens as well on Ubuntu 20.04, very annoying because it works fine if those domains are manually added to /run/systemd/resolve/stub- resolv.conf file so there's not real limit since glibc is not the issue anymore. This of course gets overwritten on any network change, and in case of VPN connections this happens a lot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1945288 Title: Search domains missing from resolv.conf stub Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: System is Mint 20.2, with the relevant packages taken from Ubuntu Focal. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1955384] [NEW] Xorg freeze
Public bug reported: This bug happened when I clicked and held the left mouse button on the desktop and moved it to make a rectangular selection window. Next, I moved the window to highlight 4 desktop shortcuts on my desktop (Middle- earth Shadow of Mordor.desktop, steam.desktop, Trash, and the icelancet or Home folder). Next, while still holding the left mouse button down, I pressed and released the right mouse button. Now a window pops up with more options, however, the window is not removable using a normal method like clicking somewhere else on the desktop or even choosing an option in the window which does nothing. Also, it introduces more bugs like: 1. clicking the icelancet/Home shortcut on the desktop does not open the Home folder, or 2. while clicking the Home folder shortcut on the sidebar does open the Home folder, this window is not moveable by the usual method of pressing down the left mouse button on the title bar of the window and moving the mouse. As such, when this bug occurs, a hard reboot is necessary to restore the stability of the system. I have reproduced the bug after a reboot and doing the same procedure - the same thing happens. When I try to print a test page from cups (or other printings) it goes well, until close to the end, when the printing suddenly stops, without the sheet being released : I have to power off the printer, which as a side effect triggers the sheet ejection before power off. I read various articles and forums on this topic before posting. Playing with usblp, kernel blacklists and /dev/usb/lp0 does not solve anything. I wanted to be sure that it was not the Prolific controller which was flawed. So I connected it to a windows 7 virtual machine into Virtualbox; Windows installed various drivers, and eventually various printings ran seamlessly - without my issue on GNU/Linux. So my conclusion is that the controller is ok. I also just tested mainline kernel http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v3.13-rc3-trusty/linux- image-3.13.0-031300rc3-generic_3.13.0-031300rc3.201312061335_amd64.deb . No improvement, my test page stops being printed at the same spot close to the end. So I can assume that there is a bug in the controller's driver. Best regards R. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1788018] Re: udevd keeps binding and unbinding some usb device und uses all cpu
I got a workaround by removing /lib/udev/rules.d/97-hid2hci.rules as was mentioned in a comment at https://askubuntu.com/questions/1028883/ubuntu-18-04-systemd-udevd-uses- high-cpu-conflict-with-wifi It seems to be some rule for Bluetooth and touchpads. Is there a general document describing the GCC5 transition and the future of *v5 packages, aside from these two [1][2] outdated pages, so users can know which variant to keep in situations like this? 1: https://wiki.debian.org/GCC5 2: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GCC5 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to qtdeclarative-opensource- src in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1649156 Title: Dependency on libdouble-conversion1 causes conflict Status in double-conversion: Invalid Status in qtdeclarative-opensource-src package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Hi, Since this change: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/295556379/double-conversion_2.0.1-3ubuntu2_2.0.1-4ubuntu1.diff.gz libdouble-conversion1 breaks libdouble-conversion1v5 and since this change: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/296573650/qtdeclarative-opensource-src_5.6.1-7ubuntu2~1_5.6.1-7ubuntu2~2.diff.gz I have a conflict on Zesty with 2 resolutions: 1. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1643129] Re: Drop system-config-printer-gnome package
Current state of packages in Zesty (proposed is disabled) produces a conflict for those with system-config-printer 1.5.7+20160812-0ubuntu2 because updating it to 1.5.7+20160812-0ubuntu4 breaks system-config-printer-gnome (<< 1.5.7+20160812-0ubuntu3~) and available version of system-config-printer-gnome is 1.5.7+20160812-0ubuntu2 Proposed resolutions are: 1. keep system-config-printer 2. remove system-config-printer-gnome I resolved the conflict by removing system-config-printer-gnome only after finding this LP bug and figuring out what's going on. I know this is a development version of Ubuntu, but many people will still be confused with this conflict. Maybe there is a different way of making this transition that doesn't create a conflict? Cheers, Marko -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-meta in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1643129 Title: Drop system-config-printer-gnome package Status in Ubuntu GNOME: Triaged Status in system-config-printer package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in ubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in xubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: I don't think the system-config-printer-gnome split makes sense any more and it would be nice to get this package closer in sync with Debian. In other words, let's drop system-config-printer-gnome and move most of its contents back to system-config-printer but a few files will end up in system-config-printer-common. The last explicit merge was almost a decade ago: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/system-config-printer/0.7.70-1ubuntu1 ) The split was done in 2008 for KDE's benefit: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/system-config-printer/0.7.78+svn1799-0ubuntu2 - system-config-printer-kde no longer exists (it appears to have been part of the kdeadmin source package which was removed a few years ago) - Kubuntu only ships system-config-printer-udev so they aren't affected now http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/cdimage/kubuntu/daily-live/current/zesty-desktop-amd64.manifest - Ubuntu GNOME does not need the files shipped in system-config- printer since GNOME has its own integrated Printers Settings panel. https://packages.debian.org/sid/all/system-config-printer/filelist In Ubuntu 16.10 I attempted to follow Debian's gnome-control-center packaging and depend on system-config-printer-common only, but it broke the Printers panel since Ubuntu's packaging moved the dbus service to the system-config-printer-gnome package (See bug 1496860 & bug 1623150 & bug 1637466 ). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1641467] [NEW] Mouse flickering and disappearing near the top of screen
Public bug reported: So I'm not sure this is an xorg bug, I couldn't figure out what xorg is. But I recently upgraded to ubuntu 16.10 and started seeing this bug where my mouse will flicker and disappear when near the top of the screen. It still works clicking-wise. It also seems to be especially severe when using Google Chrome, where it completely disappears and flickers the entire time while mousing over the menu uptions (i.e the close button, the tabs etc...). However recently I noticed this also happens when google chrome is off, though it flickers much less. I can confirm both the bug (with /dev/sda1 on my computers) and that Jay's patch works. I would like to make a fix, if that's OK (and if it's needed).
