[Touch-packages] [Bug 2045931] Re: ps3 sixasis controller request pin to connect to bt
If this is a security issue, the ability to override should at least be tied to specific MAC address of known devices. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1211110] Re: network manager openvpn dns push data not updating system DNS addresses
This issue has been bothering more of a hundred users for more than a year. In my case there was a workaround at some point, by downgrading openvpn to an older version (can't remember which). Being so prevailing and old, it is quite disgraceful that this is not being addressed on Ubuntu 16 LTS. Instead, I see some wall of text here (e.g. comment 80) trying to excuse the inexcusable. ** Description changed: [Triage Notes] - This bug can no longer make progress. Please see comment 50 for details - and further instructions. + Apparently fixed on Ubuntu 17.04, nobody caring about LTS versions. + Please see wall of text on comment 50 for a long excuse. [Original Description] When IPv4 Method is set to Automatic VPN, DNS address recieved from OpenVPN server do not update resolv.conf. This can be achieved when using a standard openvpn config file by adding the lines: script-security 2 up /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf down /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf In Network-manager there seems to be no option to run connection specific scripts and the DNS data from the server is ignored. Example: In split DNS setups, connecting to VPN will not cause us to query the DNS provided by the VPN first (or only), which should be the proper way to resolve names in that case. Say server.example.com in the public DNS resolves to a.a.a.a and in the private DNS resolves to b.b.b.b. Stuff would work from my normal internet-connection, but connection to VPN would cause stuff to misbehave. I expect to hit the b.b.b.b address but since my normal LAN DNS is being used first, I'm really hitting a.a.a.a. Please let me know how to proceed - Hopefully this can be fixed in time for release. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1629611] Re: dns server priority broken
Downgrading network-manager package (not the VPN ones) to v1.1.93 solves the issue so this is an obvious regression.
