I am now on 20.04 and the issue still there

In which Ubuntu release are you still seeing this problem?

Ubuntu 16.04 is now "End of Life" so will receive no further
updates. You should either upgrade to or install a supported
release.

See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

If you are already running a later release please execute the
following command only once, as it will automatically gather
debugging information, in a terminal:

  apport-collect 1691608

When reporting bugs you should use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug'
and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about
this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1691608] Re: Sporadic crackling sound from headphones

2017-05-24 Thread nacenteno
I added the oem-audio-hda-daily-lts-xenial-dkms driver using Synapic and
enabled it with the system settings.
That helped a little

Using also the PulseAudio Volume Control I added latency to 32.00 and
that helped too.

The sound still distorts when volume increase. A low volume behaves
well.

Sound is similar to listening a radio station with weak signal. Some
sounds distorts.

Please let me know what do you suggest to fix.

Thanks.

** Also affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu)
