Title:
  /etc/default/cron and /etc/cron.daily/standard are inconsistent

Status in cron package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  default file says:

  # This file has been deprecated. [...]

  Although in the file /etc/cron.daily/standard:

  # Don't continue if user wants to skip lost+found check
  if [ -f /etc/default/cron ]; then
      . /etc/default/cron
      [ "$CHECK_LOSTFOUND" = "no" ] && exit 0
  fi

  I see 3 options:

  1. Removing deprecated flag.
  2. Removing lost+found check.
  3. Putting this info to a different place.

  I suggest option #2.
