I've had the same bug, however I am unable to open up the copy dialog (even when using ALT+TAB). It appears to be the same bug as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/887821. Wait, it's not fixed for me after all. What happened is that I had Nautilus opened in another workspace, and this made it seem that the issue was fixed. Bug affects USB flash drive and partition with Windows on it but does not affect other NTFS partition without system installed. I found out that You can make the partition bug-resistant by mounting it on start via /etc/fstab. As mentioned in comment above my Windows partition was affected by the bug and it is no more - since listed in /etc/fstab. More and more people affected. While Alt + Tab can be a nightmare at some cases... It does not have to be different drive - bug exists for different partition than Linux installation like one occupied by Windows. Instead of restoring the window a new instance of nautilus is showing up. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a nautilus window by clicking on the launcher icon. 2. Navigate to a symlinked directory whose target is located on a different harddrive (for example: a symlink to a folder on a sd-card). 3. Minimize the nautilus window. 4. Try to bring up that window again by clicking the launcher icon. What happens: 1. A new instance (window) of nautilus is opened. 2. There's no obvious way to access the first window again. The only way is ALT+TAB. What schould happen: If a nautilus window is already open and minimized clicking the launcher icon should bring up that window. This was the behavior of nautilus windows in Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal).
