## Description

For the past few months I have been experiencing a sporadic but very
dangerous and critical issue. For some unknown reason my Xorg server
will sometimes crash when attempting to open the drop-down list in
Synapse. This usually happens after the system has been up for a while.

Downgrading Synapse to the build in the Ubuntu repos didn't help.
Neither did upgrading the kernel and graphics stack to the latest
hardware enablement stacks (I tried both Quantal and Raring. I am
currently on the latter.)

Do you think this is a fault on Synapse's part or will I have to report
this with X.org?

In any case I sincerely hope there is some way to fix this and I'd
appreciate any help.
