FWIW ephemeral notifications as they are in unity7 now only make sense in a pointer scenario, with touch you need to be able to dismiss them 'cause there's no way to hover to reach what's behind them. So there are no ephemeral notifications anymore?! I do not see them being refered to in any way in the design-document. See... www.youtube.com/watch?v=KI-uBmr_TNQ&t=1m30s ... for an example. Ephemeral notifications are just that. Not interactive in any way and just used to display not too important information to the user, which can be missed by the user without any impact.
