Title:
  First Use of Workspace Switcher: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in
  assign_to_own()

Status in Unity:
  Confirmed
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  First click on workspace switcher icon in Launcher after a clean
  install of the 20 July Utopic daily failed to produce the expected
  spread of workspaces and instead triggered approx. 30 seconds of disk
  activity followed by an Apport message that compiz had crashed.

  On the second the switcher performed as expected.

  I've seen the same behavior on every Unity release since 12.04.

  ThinkPad W530, Intel HD4000, 1920x1080.
