[Touch-packages] [Bug 1358750] Re: [Video aggregator] New videos are added to the video scope only after reboot
I've put together a merge proposal that changes the way media scanner tracks mount/unmount of removable media here: https://code.launchpad.net/~jamesh/mediascanner2/udisk- mounts/+merge/236057 I'd appreciate if people who have been able to reproduce this problem give the changes a try. The output.zip links from Jenkins contain armhf debs, so this doesn't require you to manually build the package. Right now, the latest build can be found here: http://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/job/mediascanner2-utopic-armhf- ci/93/artifact/work/output/*zip*/output.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity-scope-mediascanner in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1358750 Title: [Video aggregator] New videos are added to the video scope only after reboot Status in Media Scanner v2: New Status in “mediascanner2” package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: New videos are added to the video scope only after reboot. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1358750] Re: [Video aggregator] New videos are added to the video scope only after reboot
Could you do the following: - clear all media, unplug the sd card and reboot (reinstall is also good) - start phablet-shell - do tail -f .cache/upstart/mediascanner-2.0.log - insert SD card You should get logging output telling what files mediascanner is finding and inserting into the database. If this is happening, then the fault lies somewhere in the scope/query machinery. If this is not happening, please copypaste here what is printed in the log. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1358750] Re: [Video aggregator] New videos are added to the video scope only after reboot
I suspect this is a race between setting up the inotify watches and the actual mount (so the watch points at the directory under the mount). Will need to poke around a bit more before we can say that's definitely the cause. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity-scope-mediascanner in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1358750 Title: [Video aggregator] New videos are added to the video scope only after reboot Status in Media Scanner v2: New Status in “unity-scope-mediascanner” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: New videos are added to the video scope only after reboot.
