Bug description:
  The recent pull-up from the bottom display is confusingly blank when
  started on a clean phone. Tried on krillin #14 and #15

  Steps to reproduce.

  1. Have a phone which hasn't made any phone calls
  2. Open dialer app and swipe up from the bottom
  3. You end up with a blank screen you can't easily exit from. In addition you 
can type through the blank screen and dial numbers.
