Bug description:
The Photos scope and gallery app support a mechanism where a photo can
be opened directly in the gallery by tapping 'open' on it in the
photos scope. However, this appears to fail on the first try if
  Gallery hasn't been run before.

  Steps to reproduce this:
  1. Flash the phone to get a fresh install.
  2. Take some photos in the camera app.
  3. Navigate to those photos in the Photos scope.
  4. Select a photo and tap 'open'.

Expected results: Selected photo opens in the gallery app.

Actual results: Gallery app opens and shows the 'Events' view, but does not
open the chosen photo.
On second attempt, the expected results happen.

I suspect that the gallery app may be getting stuck on indexing and
thumbnailing the first time, and once that is done things work as
  expected.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1389514] Re: open photo from scope fails on first try

2015-04-30 Thread Arthur Mello
Hello Evan. In fact this regression is not arale specific and is
presented on rtm images too. We have an MR [0] to fix this problem that
is in review process right now. If you could, please, open a bug so we
can follow this issue. Thanks for the report.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1389514] Re: open photo from scope fails on first try

2015-04-29 Thread Evan Wang
Seems there is a regression of this issue on Arale r 29

$ system-image-cli -i
current build number: 29
device name: arale
channel: ubuntu-touch/tangxi-vivid-proposed
last update: 2015-04-30 01:53:21
version version: 29
version ubuntu: 20150429

The behaviors are as same as Actual results described previous, that Gallery
app opens and shows the 'Events' view, but does not open the chosen photo.
I did not find a way to re-open this bug, need to report a new one? thanks.

I suspect that the gallery app may be getting stuck on indexing and
thumbnailing the first time, and once that is done things work as
  expected.
