This bug still persists. I am on Lubuntu 3.16.0-62-generic
#83~14.04.1-Ubuntu x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux. Dragging icon from
Firefox 45.0 causes mouse pointer duplication and more. Please see
attached picture. Has any progress been made on this bug. Thanks for
your assistance in advance.

Addendum to my last comment. The only way I can get the cursor to do
that is when an image is open in Image Viewer and i forget and try to
drag it , then the cursor changes into that image .

I am using 14.04 with gnome-fallback-compiz DE and it happens to em.
the only way to get rid of the giant thing is to reboot or perhaps log
out and back in. I keep forgetting and doing it again, like 4 or 5
times now. I had an image ,rather large, 100 px sized, and extremely
annoying cursor with the 2 arrows at top until I rebooted

My cursor was stuck that way ., it was approx 100px in size and a small
version of the image I had open in Image viewer I clicked and moved my mouse
while left clicked (drag) and my cursor turns into the image in image viewer
I am using 14.04 with gnome-fallback-compiz DE current desktop . I just read
this , did a ctrl - alt-t and my cursor was restored, Always before I had to
reboot to get rid of the giant cursor and correct the problem.

This affects me too. I had 3 cursors upto, I took a screenshot and then
I got distracted and went to download gimp. I am not sure exactly what
made the 2 extra cursors go away, whether it was ctrl+alt+t or putting
in sudo apt-get install gimp, or putting in my password, but after I'd
done all thatI noticed the extra cursors were suddenly gone.

I'm using Lubuntu 14.04 (installed ubuntu first then installed lubuntu
over it)

Title:
  Double Mouse Cursor

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When dragging with the mouse cursor often it creates a double cursor
side by side about 10 cm apart on the screen. Only one cursor works.
Using print screen does not show the cursor in the resulting image.
  Rebooting corrects the problem.

This is similar to the double mouse cursor reported as a result of
flash in a browser, however the current problem will occur without the
  browser open.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1396361] Re: Double Mouse Cursor

2015-03-23 Thread strange1712
Fresh Installed Lubuntu 14.10 (x64) has this issue. I consider it to be
essentially the same as

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1393169

It happens more frequently in drag operations.
This is my mother's old laptop so I won't be able to report any further.

Note: The cursor is restored to normal if you get to a terminal
(Ctrl+alt+F1) and then return to X (Ctrl+Alt+F7).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1396361] Re: Double Mouse Cursor

2015-03-01 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Dale, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg 1396361

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information.

As well, given the information from the prior release is already
available, testing a release prior to the development one would not be
helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.
