Title:
[Dialler] Dialer app launches too slow

Status in Ubuntu UX bugs:
  Triaged
Status in dialer-app package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
In my opinion the dialer app on the Ubuntu Phone is much too slow.

On my BQ Aquarius E4.5 (Ubuntu 14.10 (r22)) it takes 3 seconds to
launch the dialer app. This is a phone! Since I was born there was no
phone that had such a delay to get ready. My previouse phone a Nokia
3720c launches the dialer app in less than a second. Also Android
  phones are much faster.

Wouldn't it be possible to keep the dialer app in the RAM to force an
  instant launch?

(Also the messaging app should get that boost but it's less important
  than the dialer)

2015-05-13 Thread kevin gunn
i don't disagree, I know in the past we've discussed having dialer auto-
launched at boot (and/or if crashed)
