  If I clear the browsing history by going to 'Privacy & Permissions'
  and choosing 'Clear Browsing History' visited sites still show up in

I think I might have had the issue you described (crash when clearing hhistory 
from new tab view) I just assumed that clearing the history would close all 
tabs instead of realizing it was a crash. If I clear the history from a normal 
tab it does work.
If it's still of any use to you, i'm running ubuntu 15.04 (OTA-8) on a bq 
Aquaris E5

I am not seeing that (I’m running the latest rc-proposed image on arale). Also 
tested on desktop, not seeing the issue either.
What I do observe however is that the browser crashes when clearing the 
navigation history while the new tab view is open (for which I filed bug 
#1525937).

Can you reliably reproduce the issue? On what device/version is that?
