actually, poking around a bit more, was the ro.product.device name changed from "mx4" to "arale" in recent system images? This would have broken android quirk detection in mir... the GL driver is know to break depth testing when certain EGL extensions are used. Please ensure the egl context Qt is getting has rgba , depth 8 and stencil 24.
