Title:
  Support application indicators for Unity8

Status in Canonical System Image:
  New
Status in Ubuntu UX:
  New
Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
It seems there's no plan to support application indicators for Unity8

I have an application called rsibreak
  https://userbase.kde.org/RSIBreak

It tells you to stop typing/using the mouse for 20 seconds after every
  10 minutes of use.

Basically the application has no window, just a statistics dialog and
  a configure dialog.

The "view" of the application is the application indicator that
contains a graphic display that shows how much time is left for the
  next break.

If we don't support application indicators the user will not see
anything after he launches the application.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1671042] Re: Support application indicators for Unity8

2017-03-08 Thread MichaƂ Sawicz
One approach that, I believe, was originally considered for Unity7, was
to move the functionality into the launcher "quicklists" - right-click
context menus on launcher icons.
