Bug description:
  I just installed ubuntu, and immediately had problems of very loud and
crackling sound no matter what sound I played.
  I tried the three solutions listed here
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/PositionReporting, the three of them resulted in
no sound at all, and now even if I revert back everything, I can't get any
sound out from the speakers.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1773700] Re: [UX390UAK, Realtek ALC295, Speaker, Internal] very loud and crackling sound no matter what sound I play

2019-01-07 Thread Jule Marcoueille
And I do not know if it changes something but I have this workaround
active too: http://iam.tj/prototype/enhancements/Windows-acpi_osi.html

Plus, I have tried the fixes in your first post with no more luck for the
crackling sound.
* `options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1` in `/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf` -
KO
* `options snd-hda-intel position_fix=2` in `/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf` -
KO
* `load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0` in `/etc/pulse/default.pa` - KO

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1773700] Re: [UX390UAK, Realtek ALC295, Speaker, Internal] very loud and crackling sound no matter what sound I play

2019-01-07 Thread Jule Marcoueille
For me the steps from this tutorial https://era86.github.io/2017/10/03
/asus-zenbook-3-volume-controls.html have done the trick in order to
control the internal speaker volume. But unfortunately it is more a
workaround than a real fix since I still have crackling sound... :'(
