  Dell C2665dnf gets broken installation

Status in cups package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
My apologies if this is the wrong package to file this bug against...

I just installed 18.04 on a new machine. Very conveniently, it found
my Dell C2665dnf printer and set up an ipp printer for it.
Unfortunately, the printer configuration doesn't work. Printing a
test page gives 016-720 PDL error.

I can install the Dell-created printer filter and PPD and create a
printer that works fine, and I have this setup on another 18.04
  machine.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1806226] Re: Dell C2665dnf gets broken installation

2018-12-05 Thread Till Kamppeter
Please attach the PPD file of your test queue "2660",
/etc/cups/ppd/2660.ppd.

Please also attach the output file of:

ipptool -tv ipp://Dell-C2665dnf-D38EA3.local:631/ipp/print get-printer-
attributes-2.0.test > attr.txt

Also run the command

driverless ipp://Dell-C2665dnf-D38EA3.local:631/ipp/print > out.ppd

and attach the resulting file.

Please attach the files one by one, do not compress them and do not
package them together.

I get the same issue. Printing a test page on this queue gives me the

2018-12-02 Thread brian_p
> Printing a test page gives 016-720 PDL error.

The search engine I used had the first two pages devoted to this error.
You would, of course, searched for a solution in the same way. From the
number of issues, one could be forgiven for thinking this is a printer
problem and not a Ubuntu one.

> ipp://Dell-C2665dnf-D38EA3.local:631/ipp/print

This appears to be the URI for the printer. Check with the driverless
and ippfind utilities.

Now set up this print queue

lpadmin -p 2660 -v ipp://Dell-C2665dnf-D38EA3.local:631/ipp/print -E -m
everywhere

and print to 2660. The outcome?
