[Touch-packages] [Bug 1918458] Re: [Swift SF515-51T, Realtek ALC256, Grey Speaker, Internal] Playback problem, no sound from speakers, headphones ok

2021-07-18 Thread Hui Wang
@Alex,

Download 3 deb files, then run 'sudo dpkg -i *.deb'; 'reboot', and check
if the running kernel is the testing kernel through 'uname -a'

Title:
[Swift SF515-51T, Realtek ALC256, Grey Speaker, Internal] Playback
problem, no sound from speakers, headphones ok

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Expect : sound from speaker
  Instead, obtain : no sound.

Tried various configuration of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-conf with :

  options snd-hda-intel model= and
  options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=3 or 1
  and systematic reboot.

Either I get dummy output, or I get proper output detection, alsamixer
and pavucontrol seems 100% ok, but no sound comes from the speakers.

I'm under a dualboot with Windows 10, BIOS fast boot disabled.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1918458] Re: [Swift SF515-51T, Realtek ALC256, Grey Speaker, Internal] Playback problem, no sound from speakers, headphones ok

2021-07-09 Thread Hui Wang
Please collect a log while the system is playing the sound via speaker:

check the speaker is the active output device
play the music via youtu or sth else
 run 'sudo sh -c 'echo 1 > /sys/module/snd_hda_codec/parameters/dump_coef'
 run 'alsa-info --no-upload' to get the alsa-info.txt.
 upload the alsa-info.txt.

thx.

Hello,

I also just ran all commands without a restart and none of them caused
sound to come from the speaker. There is still no sound after a restart.

Hello Hui Wang,

Thanks for trying to solve the issue !
I just ran all these commands (without any shutdown, I assumed it was not
needed), none solved the speaker problem.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1918458] Re: [Swift SF515-51T, Realtek ALC256, Grey Speaker, Internal] Playback problem, no sound from speakers, headphones ok

2021-07-05 Thread Hui Wang
Does the speaker work normally in the windows? If yes, please run this
dumptool to get the codec setting.

Then in the linux, run 'sudo sh -c 'echo 1 >
/sys/module/snd_hda_codec/parameters/dump_coef', and run 'alsa-info
--no-upload' to get the alsa-info.txt.

Please upload both generated log files.

thx.
