Just made a normal installation which succeeded. Actually I see the issue with both. The journalctl extract is from an attempt with the current image (with Ubiquity). Yesterday I installed via yesterday's pending image. Same problem. What daily image did you install? The current one is from mid December and the pending one is from today.
