Internal microphone doesn't work on XPS M1330

Bug description:
Binary package hint: pulseaudio
As in title; choosing any out of the 3 available microphones in sound
panel doesn't trigger the input level meter. Sound recorder
application records no sound. I haven't tested external microphones.
