[Touch-packages] [Bug 1819183] [NEW] FFe: Update pygobject to 3.32

2019-03-08 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Feature Freeze exception request

Since we're updating the rest of GNOME to 3.32 (including glib and
gobject-introspection), it seems like it would be a good idea to update
pygobject also.

3.31.4-1 is in Debian experimental ready to be synced over once this FFe
is approved. 3.32.0 is expected next week.

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pygobject/blob/master/NEWS
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pygobject/compare/3.30.4...3.31.4 (includes
several commits that were already included in the current 3.30.4 version)

Justification for lateness
--
Sorry, we've been a bit busy and this wasn't a high priority.

** Affects: pygobject (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

2019-03-08 Thread linrunner
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1574311 ***

This is not a bug but just designed behaviour of TLP.

You may change it by configuring:

DEVICES_TO_DISABLE_ON_STARTUP="bluetooth"
or

RESTORE_DEVICE_STATE_ON_STARTUP=1

See https://linrunner.de/en/tlp/docs/tlp-configuration.html#radios

  Hello guys

I installed the io.elementary.camera package from Elementary OS on
Ubuntu Disk 19.04 normally, but message appears that it does not

the same machine and the Webcam works normally.

  I installed through the repository:

  sudo add-apt-repository ppa: elementary-os / daily
  sudo apt update
  sudo apt install io.elementary.camera

In the description, there is the option pantheon-camera, but this one
says to be with broken package and does not install. Could it be this
that does not let the webcam work? Look!

  sudo apt install pantheon-camera

The following information may help resolve the situation:

The following packages have mismatched dependencies:

Note When I enter synaptcis there is no broken package.

Title:
DNS is broken after reboot or suspend

Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Relatively recently, after I reboot Ubuntu 19.04, the wireless network
connects but DNS is not working. This is because the /etc/resolv.conf
file, which is a symlink to ../run/resolvconf/resolv.conf, has no
  nameserver entries:

  # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8)
  # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN
  # 127.0.0.53 is the systemd-resolved stub resolver.
  # run "systemd-resolve --status" to see details about the actual nameservers.

Either turning the wireless card off and on again or running "sudo
systemctl restart systemd-resolved" fixes the problem.

This is also a problem after resuming from suspend - either the
resolv.conf file has no nameservers, or the previous nameservers are
still in it and appear before the new ones (so DNS queries time out).

Thanks for the info!

I'll treat this as a mesa bug and since we are using your blacklist, we
should be safe to just ignore it from our side. I'll close our kernel
issue.

Thanks to everyone involved!

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1819132] [NEW] DNS is broken after reboot or suspend

2019-03-08 Thread Rocko
Public bug reported:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1754671] Re: Full-tunnel VPN DNS leakage regression

2019-03-08 Thread dwmw2
Is there a 16.04 package? This was a regression there caused by an
earlier update.

I have users reporting the same bizarre behaviour I wasn't able to
clearly describe before — essentially, DNS being sent out seemingly
random interfaces (sometimes VPN, sometimes local). My advice to just
install this package *and* manually set dns-priority=-1,dns-search=~.
and get on with life even though you really shouldn't have to manually
set the latter, doesn't work for the 16.04 users...

And yes, when other things stop being on fire I need to undo those
settings and try to work out what's going wrong. We aren't using
systemd-resolve here because historically it also hasn't worked right
while dnsmasq did.

Bug description:
  * Impact

When using a VPN the DNS requests might still be sent to a DNS server
outside the VPN when they should not

  * Test case

Configure the system to send all the traffic to a VPN, do a name
resolution, the request should not go to the public DNS server (to be
checked by capturing the traffic by example with wireshark)

  * Regression potential

The code change the handling of DNS servers when using a VPN, we
should check that name resolution still work whne using a VPN in
  different configurations

  -

In 16.04 the NetworkManager package used to carry this patch:

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~network-manager/network-manager/ubuntu/view/head:/debian/patches/Filter-DNS-servers-to-add-to-dnsmasq-based-on-availa.patch

It fixed the DNS setup so that when I'm on the VPN, I am not sending
unencrypted DNS queries to the (potentially hostile) local
  nameservers.

This patch disappeared in an update. I think it was present in
1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.4 but was dropped some time later.

This security bug exists upstream too:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=746422
It's not a *regression* there though, as they didn't fix it yet
(unfortunately!)

Title:
[SRU] AuthInfoRequired negotiate in cups 2.2.7 in Bionic does not work

Status in CUPS:
  Fix Released
Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  [Impact]

If a print queue is set up with "auth-info-required=negotiate" because
the server requires authentication (for example Kerberos) the user is
asked for user name and password on every jon, insteaf of the
authentication working automatically. This worked correctly in 14.04
  and 16.04.

Also setting "AuthType Default" for "/" in cupsd.conf leads to be
prompted for a password on commands like "lpatat -a", even for root.
Works correctly in Xenial and Cosmic.

  [Test Case]

Set up a queue pointing to a Kerberos-authenticated Windows server
  with "lpadmin ... -o auth-info-required=negotiate ..." OR set
"AuthType Default" for "/" in cupsd.conf. When printing or running
other commands accessing your print queue you will get prompted for
credentials. With the fix the authentication will get automatic again.

  [Regression Potential]

Low, as the fix are simple one-line corrections taken from upstream.

  [Original report]

  Hi,

We have our printers configured to print to a Windows print server. In
Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 our setup works fine but in 18.04 our setup
seems to be acting more like AuthInfoRequired username, password i.e.
it prompts for a password when printing rather than using the
  available Kerberos credentials.

We are using an unaltered cupsd.conf file and are adding printers with
  the following command:

  lpadmin -p "printer" -D "Printer" -L "room" -v
  "smb://printers.cis.strath.ac.uk/printers" -o Media=A4 -o PageSize=A4
  -o printer-error-policy=abort-job -o auth-info-required=negotiate -m
  "CIS/hp-officejet_pro_476_576_series-ps.ppd"

the smb backend has been linked to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/samba/smbspool_krb5_wrapper (I've added this the apparmor profile
as it's blocked by default) and the permissions on this file changed
to 700 (owner root) as per manpage instructions.

When using lp -d printer /tmp/test.txt I get the following response:

  Password for myuid on localhost?

Typing my password gets the job accepted to the queue but it does
spool to the Windows Print Server and in the error_log file I can see

  D [24/Jul/2018:10:33:00 +0100] [Job 45] SMBSPOOL_KRB5 -
AUTH_INFO_REQUIRED=negotiate
  D [24/Jul/2018:10:33:00 +0100] [Job 45] SMBSPOOL_KRB5 - Started with uid=0
  D [24/Jul/2018:10:33:00 +0100] [Job 45] SMBSPOOL_KRB5 - AUTH_UID is not set

As I said earlier this all works perfectly on Xenial and Trusty.
(A similar AuthInfoRequired negotiate setup also works in cups 2.2.5 on MacOS
10.13)

Any ideas how to fix this?

  Thanks,

  Ian.

settings in the [Install] section, and DefaultInstance for template units).
This means they are not meant to be enabled using systemctl.
Possible reasons for having this kind of units are:
  1) A unit may be statically enabled by being symlinked from another unit's
 .wants/ or .requires/ directory.
  2) A unit's purpose may be to act as a helper for some other unit which has
 a requirement dependency on it.
  3) A unit may be started when needed via activation (socket, path, timer,
D-Bus, udev, scripted systemctl call, ...).
  4) In case of template units, the unit is meant to be enabled with some
 instance name specified.

In Gnome Tweak Tool you can configure vertical maximizing for:

However this feature seems to get ignored in Wayland sessions (it just
maximizes fully instead). It only works correctly in Xorg Gnome sessions.

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * Some newer workloads fail due to libseccomp as in Bionic lacking
  statx support

   * This backports the syscall definitions for statx to Bionic to allow
  to manage those

  [Test Case]

  # Note: I took a KVM image of Bionic to not spoil my system with Docker
config for this test too much
  $ sudo apt install docker.io
  $ sudo usermod -a -G docker ubuntu
  $ cat > test-statx/Dockerfile << EOF

  RUN gcc test-statx.c -o test-statx
  RUN touch test-file
  RUN chmod +x ./test-statx
  RUN ./test-statx test-file
  EOF
  $ docker build test-statx

With the bug and current docker 18.06.1-0ubuntu1~18.04.1 in Bionic
  that yields

  [...]
  Step 8/8 : RUN ./test-statx test-file
   ---> Running in 6e60a82409e6
  test-file: Operation not permitted
  statx(test-file) = -1
  The command '/bin/sh -c ./test-statx test-file' returned a non-zero code: 1

With the fix applied it would work and look like:

  statx(test-file) = 0

  [Regression Potential]

   * This "only" defines a new syscall number for all the architectures.
It does not make any other changes, thereby it should be rather safe.
If anything software could now manage statx through libseccomp and
behavior that was formerly failing (like the reported docker case)
would not succeed and due to that be a change in behavior - but I
think it is a wanted change.

  Hello maintainer,

The docker version 17.03 (bionic) in ubuntu doesn't allow the statx syscall
which is needed to build qt >=5.10 applications:
  https://github.com/docker/for-linux/issues/208#issuecomment-372400859

Could this fix be backported in the ubuntu package ?

Status in gtk+3.0 package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
In the Ubuntu version of Gtk+ 3 type-ahead as been re-patched in. This
causes unexpected behaviours for the file-chooser.

The type-ahead patch should be removed for the following reasons:

  1) In file-chooser when you try to search using the looking-glass icon
search-dialogue the focus does not stay in the search box, so you have
to click in the box each time you type a letter.[1]

  2) A magically appearing type-ahead box is not expected and confusing.

  3) This behaviour was removed from Nautilus, and from main-line Gtk+
years ago. Having this behaviour re-added is not something that should
have happened. There is a search button for a reason. [2]

It's better to make people use the less confusing search box than the
  very confusing type-ahead box.

I understand that you might think it is good for the old-timers, but
it is totally broken, and has no place in a modern operating system.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1745032] Re: AC adapter status not detected on Asus ZenBook UX410UAK

2019-03-08 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Hello Agustin, or anyone else affected,

Accepted upower into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upower/0.99.7-2ubuntu0.18.04.1 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

  D [24/Jul/2018:10:33:00 +0100] [Job 45] SMBSPOOL_KRB5 -
AUTH_INFO_REQUIRED=negotiate

  Thanks,

  Ian.

Bug description:
  [Impact]

If a print queue is set up with "auth-info-required=negotiate" because
the server requires authentication (for example Kerberos) the user is
asked for user name and password on every jon, insteaf of the
authentication working automatically. This worked correctly in 14.04
  and 16.04.

Also setting "AuthType Default" for "/" in cupsd.conf leads to be
prompted for a password on commands like "lpatat -a", even for root.
Works correctly in Xenial and Cosmic.

  [Test Case]

Set up a queue pointing to a Kerberos-authenticated Windows server
  with "lpadmin ... -o auth-info-required=negotiate ..." OR set
"AuthType Default" for "/" in cupsd.conf. When printing or running
other commands accessing your print queue you will get prompted for
credentials. With the fix the authentication will get automatic again.

  [Regression Potential]

Low, as the fix are simple one-line corrections taken from upstream.

  [Original report]

  Hi,

We have our printers configured to print to a Windows print server. In
Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 our setup works fine but in 18.04 our setup
seems to be acting more like AuthInfoRequired username, password i.e.
it prompts for a password when printing rather than using the
  available Kerberos credentials.

We are using an unaltered cupsd.conf file and are adding printers with
  the following command:

  lpadmin -p "printer" -D "Printer" -L "room" -v
  "smb://printers.cis.strath.ac.uk/printers" -o Media=A4 -o PageSize=A4
  -o printer-error-policy=abort-job -o auth-info-required=negotiate -m
  "CIS/hp-officejet_pro_476_576_series-ps.ppd"

the smb backend has been linked to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/samba/smbspool_krb5_wrapper (I've added this the apparmor profile
as it's blocked by default) and the permissions on this file changed
to 700 (owner root) as per manpage instructions.

When using lp -d printer /tmp/test.txt I get the following response:

  Password for myuid on localhost?

Typing my password gets the job accepted to the queue but it does
spool to the Windows Print Server and in the error_log file I can see

  D [24/Jul/2018:10:33:00 +0100] [Job 45] SMBSPOOL_KRB5 -
AUTH_INFO_REQUIRED=negotiate

2019-03-08 Thread Filip Golab
Hey, thanks for helping me, I got a few updates regarding this issue:

- pidof is not changing

- I uploaded the crash report, but its not listed in my bug
tracker(chromium crash)

- I found out that audio works perfectly fine when the laptop is plugged
in or the battery % is above 20 - 40%

Let me know if you need more details.
