[Trac] Tickets and application version handling

2008-02-14 Thread google

Hi!

I'm new to Trac, and I wonder how you use the version field of the
ticket. According to some literature Managing Software Development
with Trac and Subversion you enter the version of the application for
which the issue was noted.

But I am also interested in adding a application version for which the
issue was resolved. I am using the admin plug in but I am unable to
add any ticket fields (i.e. Fixed in version:).

How do you guys do this? Perhaps you are using the milestone field?

Regards,

Peter H.

[Trac] Want to define a custom action in enterprise-workflow

2008-02-14 Thread Shaun Longhurst

We have taken the bold step of upgrading to trac0.11 and I think its
great. Our project manager is annoyed by one feature of the enterprise-
workflow. That is, when a new ticket is created and assigned, the
status of the ticket isnt actually assigned until you go back into the
ticket and assign it again. Is there an easy way to customise this
workflow so that when a new ticket is assigned. It does actually go to
the assigned stage rather than having to do this duplicated work.

Thanks

[Trac] Solaris and SubversionException: No such revision

2008-02-14 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi everyone,

I tried searching, found only one similar problem which suggested
upgrading to the latest version of Trac. Problem is I'm using the
latest version of Trac already. :)

Any time I check in a change to the SVN repository Trac starts
throwing the following on every page for the project:

should consider reporting this problem to the Trac team.

It's a problem where people, often Outlook users, think they are doing the
smart thing by replying to an email in the thread, thereby inheriting any
of the In-Reply-To headers and confusing the hell out of proper threading
clients (as well as mailinglist archives).

Often it takes less time to simply type (autocomplete) the trac-users email
address then to clean up a reply email for this purpose.

[Trac] Notification when assigned

2008-02-14 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi,

I've configured notification in my trac.ini. Emails are correctly sent
to the owner, reporter since I've set :
always_notify_owner = true
always_notify_reporter = true

However, one of the typicall use cases is to assign a ticket to
somebody. I would have expected Trac to send an email to the assignee
to warn him that a dew defect|task|enhancement was assigned to him
and nothing happened.
Further changes to the ticket are well sent by email since somebody
is now the owner but the first assignment is not emailed...

Is it normal ? Do I missed something in the Trac ini file ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

Just point trac at your existing svn repo during initenv or afterwards by
editing the trac.ini for your environment.

It should be all good.

[Trac] Re: restricting access to browse source from ldap authenticated users

2008-02-14 Thread Matthew Carlson

In Trac, authentication and permissions are seperate; I'm assuming
Apache is handling ldap authentication in your setup.

You should be able to use the standard Trac permissions system to
manage permissions for your users. However, as far as I know,
permissions in Trac bubble up; you can only add additional
permissions to the permissions a user receives from the groups they
belong to, not revoke them. To get a better idea of what's going on,
you can use the permissions section in Web Admin. It lists all the
permissions Trac has stored. My guess is that either the group
anonymous or the group authenticated has BROWSER_VIEW, LOG_VIEW,
FILE_VIEW, CHANGESET_VIEW and all your users inherit these
permissions. In that case, you will have to work the other way -
remove these permissions from the large group, and add them to
individual users that need source access.

If you have a large number of people to handle, you may want to
consider the LdapPlugin (http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/LdapPlugin).

 - Matthew

P.S. As a disclaimer, we don't use Apache or Ldap authentication. I'm
just going on what I've read.

On Feb 13, 5:30 pm, JoeNMDA [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

I want to restrict certain ldap users from browsing the source, so I

 trac-admin myproject permission remove myuser BROWSER_VIEW LOG_VIEW
 FILE_VIEW CHANGESET_VIEW

User myuser can still access the browse source tab and peruse the
 source.

authz_file is empty in [trac] inside my trac.ini file.

Can this be done on an ldap user?

2008-02-14 Thread Sam Ayoubpour
Hello Everyone,

My question is: How does one remove old users from the drop down
list...?

Thanks,
Sam.

[Trac] Re: Recommended Trac Forum for resolving user issues

2008-02-14 Thread DoB

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if people here could recommend a good forum or
knowledge base for refferencing posting when trying to resolve
issues with Trac. I have a test Trac system setup and I wanted to add
another project to it but it seems to have gone pear shapped,
unfortunately Im a Linux and Trac n00b so well out of my depth here. I
tried following this guide: http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracEnvironment
but then halfway through discovered that I had to setup the SVN
repository in order to point the new environment to it and followed
the bits for doing it from this http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracModPython
(changing locations to suit my setup of course).

Is a project the same as an environment in Trac?

Regards,

Dave

[Trac] Re: Import existing SVN repository?

2008-02-14 Thread Alexander Coles

You should be able to use an existing SVN repository with no issues.

 Hi all,

is it possible to import an existing subversion repository to trac, or
does one need to start with a clean repository?

 Thanks!

[Trac] Re: Remove users from drop down list

2008-02-14 Thread Sam Ayoubpour
Thanks Erik, I've seen that page and I'm able to add users but I'm
trying to remove users from the drop down list, which I haven't been
able to find any documentation on...

Sam.

Hi

Maybe http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracTickets#Assign-toasDrop-DownList
will help you out.

Cheers / Erik

[Trac] TOPIC: Notification when assigned

2008-02-14 Thread Steve McCusker

Pierre

There is a bug in Trac 0.10.4 that prevents notification of a new ticket.
See ticket #3654.

The second patch mentioned in the ticklet cured the problem for me.

Cheers

 Hi,

I've configured notification in my trac.ini. Emails are correctly sent
to the owner, reporter since I've set :
 always_notify_owner = true
 always_notify_reporter = true

 Pierre

[Trac] Re: Which plugins for displaying LaTEx in Trac?

2008-02-14 Thread Simon Martin

Hi,

I would recommend both of you create a page at http://trac-hacks.org/
(at least with a pointer to your own site), so that your plugins can
be found by other trac users.

Simon

I wrote one you can find at:http://www.openvest.com/trac/wiki/LatexEquation

That page also has a link to another.

Mine is a plugin socopy one .py file to your project plugin dir
 and you are done!
It's pretty simple but works 4 me. One that handles more than
 equations would
be cool...being able to draw picts with all of the latex graphics
 extension

If you have an openid you can login to my site and play with it in the
 Sandbox:http://www.openvest.com/trac/wiki/SandBox...justb nice :-)

   TracMath
   Trac2Latex
   LatexFormula
