[Trac] Appearance change doesn't work for description

2009-02-15 Thread Dellair

I tried to enlarge the rows of description field by modifying
newticket.cs, however, it doesn't work.

Here is what I did:
modify value of rows from 15 to 50 in /usr/share/trac/templates/
newticket.cs:
  textarea id=description name=description class=wikitext
rows=50 cols=78

go to trac project, click New Tickets, the description field doesn't
change at all.

How can I change the rows of description field? Your help is
appreciated!

[Trac] Re: Milestone history

2009-02-15 Thread Yunior Armando Hernandez Andrade

I'm having the same needs with ticket timing and estimation plug-in ...
But I think Trac needs right now a better task ticket handling that we
project planning managers can use. For example, differentiation between
task tickets handling and other kind of tickets, task tickets needs:
 - START DATE (that might be different from ticket creation date)
 - DUE DATE
 - REAL END DATE
 - DEPENDENCY ([start-start], [end-start], [end-end], [start-end]
although this last one might be omitted and [don't depend] for no
dependency)
 - TIME KEEPING (if one task is finished after its due date then all
tasks that depend of this one must be automatically re-adjusted to start
after its start date and due after also, same with tasks that finish
before although this should be optional)
 - Graphical View of task's planning.
Milestones should have
 - DUE DATE (the one they already have)
 - POSSIBLE END DATE (calculated from the due dates of tasks within that
milestone)
 - REAL END DATE (also already done)
 - DEPENDENCY (same that the ones explained in tickets...)

It would also be nice to have resource managing... cause the way I see
it Trac is awesome for open projects but lacks functionality to be used
in a project with a chronogram, with a tight planning... and I think
Trac has the potential to get into it.

Parens (which create a tuple, while brackets create a list) would work too,
but to create a tuple with one element you need a trailing comma. So it
would be

 return ('TICKET_CLOSE',)

instead of

 return ('TICKET_CLOSE')

That special syntax is necessary because ('TICKET_CLOSE') is actually just
interpreted by Python as 'TICKET_CLOSE'.

Hope this helps. For more info:

I changed it to have brackets and placed the mypermissions.py in the

The Trac / Admin / Permission now has it included.

[Trac] AccountManagerPlugin for Trac - adding the first user with TRAC_ADMIN rights

2009-02-15 Thread Radha

Hi,

I use Trac 0.11.2.1 for my projects. So far, I've been using
the .htpasswd mechanism of authentication that is provided by Apache.
One of the first things I do after setting up a Trac project on Apache
is to create a .htpasswd file with a user, say TracAdmin, and then
give that user TRAC_ADMIN rights.

However, didn't quite like the .htpasswd mechanism - since for every
user that I needed to add, I had to log into the server and add 'em.
And password management was a nightmare.

I looked up AccountManagerPlugin, and looked like it made my life
easier. Installed it, and then enabled these components:
AccountManagerAdminPage, AccountManager, SessionStore,
AccountChangeListener, AccountChangeNotificationAdminPanel,
HtPasswdHashMethod, AccountModule, EmailVerificationModule,
LoginModule, RegistrationModule.

I intended to use SessionStore with HtPasswdHashMethod to keep track
of my users and their passwords. The AccountManagerPlugin wiki says
(here, http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/AccountManagerPlugin#LoginModule)
that, to use the Login Module, I need to disable HTTP based
authentication provided by Apache.

My question:

If I were to enable AccountManagerPlugin before creating any users,
how do I go about creating the first user with TRAC_ADMIN rights??

Can someone please help?

Regards,
Radha.
