[Trisquel-users] Spam filter shenanigans

2011-07-19 Thread adrian . malacoda

ryanpablo sent me the following message:

Hey Adrian,

I was trying to post a topic on the forum asking users what they felt about
some of the personal servers listed under a freedombox article I read online
after hearing you guys speak of it on the forum and I was told that I had
been flagged by the spamfilter and it would not go up. I had no links in the
article and it was generally relevant to the Trisquel community as I had read
some articles but was hoping to hear what the Free Software/ Trisquel
Community thought about it.

Sincerely,

Ryan

I couldn't be of much help to him, so he gave me permission to post this to
the forum. Any idea what could be triggering the spam filter? Does the filter
block anyone from posting anything at all once it's triggered?

The spam filter can be a little overzealous sometimes. I was getting
filtered for Spam when I was editing the documentation and I am a member + on
the documentation team!

I had to talk to quidam to get the issue fixed.

BTW quidam can be contacted via (https://trisquel.info/en/users/quidam) or a
lot of times via the Trisquel IRC channel in #trisquel on freenode.

[Trisquel-users] Trisquel 5.0 LTS alpha images ready for testing

2011-07-19 Thread Rubén Rodríguez

The first development release for Trisquel GNU/Linux 5.0 STS, codename
Dagda, is now ready for testing. All the artwork comes from the 4.5
release unmodified, so it qualifies as an alpha release.

The files can be downloaded from here:
http://devel.trisquel.info/dagda/iso/trisquel_5.0-20110719_amd64.iso
http://devel.trisquel.info/dagda/iso/trisquel_5.0-20110719_amd64.iso.md5

http://devel.trisquel.info/dagda/iso/trisquel_5.0-20110719_i686.iso.md5

Please list bugs and suggestions here:
http://trisquel.info/en/wiki/dagda-development and comment your changes
at the development list or the #trisquel-dev freenode channel.

What's new:

- Based on Ubuntu 11.04
- Linux-Libre 2.6.38
- GNOME 2.32
- Firefox 5.0
- LibreOffice 3.3.0

Known bugs:

- Icons in GNOME tray have no fixed size
- The default manual in yelp is the Ubuntu user guide
- Exaile doesn't come preconfigured
- The recovery menu lets you login as root with no password

Hello,
first of all cool news, I'm glad to hear it started and it is closer.

I was wondering, is there a way to add encrypted LVM as an option in the GUI
installer for this or any future releases ? At this time, from what I'm aware
this option is only available from the netinstall cd. I don't mind the CLI
install but the net dependency can be a rather big inconvenience.

Happened to me today as well.
I went to post something, it was blocked, and there was a link to message
someone about it. Hope it goes through soon.

Newer images at http://devel.trisquel.info/dagda/iso/ (20110720) fix
grave bug in gnome-session. Also, the thread title is wrong, this is an
STS (short term support) release.

The only known way would be to manually set LVM before running the
installer and then manually select the partitions. There are several
tutorials on how to do it with Ubuntu, it would be nice if someone
added a howto in our wiki.
