Hey, at least you can still get the community edition for free (as in
freedom and beer) and run it without hassle.

And prop up GitLab B.V.'s proprietary software business in the process. Their
idea is very clear: Maybe you'll become a paying customer for the proprietary
version later on. Since they only get money when people do, that is clearly
what they're betting on. At the very least even if you don't it's free
advertising so maybe someone else will even if not you.

The reason these companies do an enterprise edition is to give reassurance
to big companies who want support contracts and have code tailored to them.
Its a win-win as this funds the core software so the project can stay alive
and appeal to both the FLOSS and enterprise audiences.

I have no objection to that in principal - Companies can make all the support
contracts they want and have people pay them as much money as they can get,
as long as what people get in the end is free software. It used to be but it
later became proprietary. I wish it still were free.

While originally itself open source software, SourceForge was commercialized
as v2.5 prototype code and eventually relicensed under a proprietary software
license as SourceForge Enterprise Edition. The original codebase was forked

found myself unable to get any sort of link to the Git repository without

It makes perfect sense to any culture that wants to not allow fathers to
enact pro-female rights policies such as not allowing anyone to marry them
until they reach a certain age. Here even if all fathers conspire to keep men
away from young girls, the man by law can rape a young girl (female child
(read the hebrew words)) and gain her that way.

Don't try to sugar coat it and explain this away like all christians do.

He just has to keep her and pay the father some money.

This is peophillia (a word only 200 yrs old), rape, and child marriage of
girls. The WORST sin in the western feminist law system. It is fine under the
God of Deuteronomy.

Girls not brides!
(and bomb anyone that disagrees)

Female children as brides is better for men than adult women as brides.

The woman will only depreciate, and also hate you.
With the girl there are 2 sides to that mountain, not just a cliff.

Mounting is something like making a folder take you to a specified partition
when entered. I think it's got nothing to do with your problem.

I think you should take a look at
https://trisquel.info/en/forum/strange-grub-behaviour-trisquel-7#comment-57418

It basically amounts to removing or commenting all the lines in the file
/etc/grub.d/01_PASSWORD , and then running the command update-grub.

Commenting is adding a # at the beginning of a line, and makes the computer
treat that line as nothing more than a comment (i.e. The computer skips it
and it's only there for humans to read it, not the computer).

Because when women have rights life is much less fun.

Can't force woman or girl to be nice to you when she challenges you.
Jail for disobeying women / not paying them in divorce /etc.

Women are worthless to men under feminism, and girls == prison.

I hate feminism and feminists and am happy when they are killed. I know their

So basically, I want to have XP, windows 7 and Trisquel on my pc. I think it
is wiser to focus on how that is done basically.

Information
XP and w7 were already installed when I installed Trisquel.

I couldn't have used the wrong username and password. I tried the one I made
during install. I couldn't have used the wrong name/ password. I tried all
other combinations as well: the name (Trisquel asks for a name and a
username), and I tried the old username and password from the portable usb
install. (to try this os). Normally in similar cases elsewhere it won't make
a difference. And trying something like that is really somewhat dangerous.
Approaching it this way causes a very heavy weight on me.

XP and w7 are 32 bit. Trisquel is 64 bit. I want to install this exact
combination.

---
I think the solution is knowing how to install xp, w7 and trisquel on the
same system.

Does anyone know a tutorial about that? Or can outline the steps? I mean very
short and basic, and possibly a question about the outline.

The file hierarchy starts with /, i.e., / is the root of the hierarchy. It is
unique (contrary to Windows that can have C:, D:, etc.). The other partitions
are attached at some mount point of the file hierarchy. For instance, the
content of /boot (the bootloader and the kernels) can be on another partition
of the hard disk but mounted on /boot (an empty directory in the root
partition, i.e., the one having /). Any partition can be mounted anywhere but
the file hierarchy must follow the POSIX norm. The installer would not let
you install a GNU/Linux with no root partition. That would make no sense.

As for the useless (and even annoying GRUB password), it is a recurrent
topic. See

Based on my understanding you've already got Trisquel and the 2 Windows

Now, on to the problem: The password problem. Is the password problem
experienced in GRUB (In which case it's not supposed to be there, and is not
what you set when installing Trisquel)?

If so, does the solution I suggested in my post (the one with a screenshot of
the solution I was referring to) work?

Ok, I'm looking at that new link.

Long story short, after using my xp experience edition cd, xp was back (It's
probably a GNU/Linux legal version of xp, everything else is ripped out,
starts with approx. 100mb RAM. Windows 7 as well, the RAM-lock is removed by
the Unawave program, and some other things downloaded it from torrent,
somehow couldn't find it from the site).

Mistake with 7 cd/// doesn't matter/// in xp I deleted Trisquel and made a
new swap partition.

I'm going to look at that link now. What I should know is, I think what the
basic steps are to install Trisquel on a system with 7 and xp as well.

How is this:
1. xp
2. Trisquel - installs grub too
3. 7
4. use a boot program to recover boot. After recovery Grub is the boot
manager. Boot program: Boot-repair-disk?
http://sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair-cd/home/Home/

I tried it already but it didn't work. It offers to send a report to an
emailaddress and a reply. I haven't done that yet I think I should.

Hmm have you checked the whole X60 if it's mistreating you on hardware
level? Every circuit, chip?

There are 3 general approaches to security: Security by Correctness, Security
by Isolation, and Security by Obscurity. Security by correctness of every
component is extremely difficult to achieve, due to falliablity of humans and
having to trust every part of the implementation and production and delivery.
Security by obscurity on the other hand is discouraged as a primary
mechanism because if the design is ever revealed, then the whole system can
be comprimised. But regarding hardware, security by isolation is much more
realistic, as it is not necessary to verify the correctness of every
circuit, every chip, but only verify the isolation mechanism and strictly
limit the manner in which individudal componets can communitate.

It will be a long time before we can achieve verifiably fully libre chips,
but a much more realistic short-term goal can be fully libre board and fully
libre boot crypto core (likely running on an fpga) that is really simple,
dumb, and slow, running a minimal hypervisor, which would control a faster
(but proprietary) application processor at a lower privelege level as a
subservient coprocessor.

On a side note, I have one or thoses Novena computers
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novena_%28computing_platform%29) which is a
full arm labtop/desktop w/fpga built by hackers with all the schematics for
the motherboard released under open source license, which I can look at right
now. I am also typing this on a X60s libreboot machine. I've also tried out
Qubes OS, which tries to implement security by isolation by running the
networking code in a seperate vm from the vm that is able to access storage,
and then each application can run in another a seperate vm. Of course none
of these are the full solution, as for instance it is possible that my flash
rom is evil and has intercepted my flashing of libreboot or in the case of
novena that the manufacturers deviated from the schematics or delivered me a
comprimised board, but these are the types of steps that are in the right
direction. And with consumer 3D printed circuitboards, it may even soon be
possible to print your own minimal trusted motherboard as a base which you
then solder a trusted fpga core and proprietary cpu and rest of the
proprietary components on.
