Re: [Trisquel-users] How can a Trisquel live DVD be added to a data DVD ?

2016-01-01 Thread amenex
On to Plan C. Isomaster will not burn a DVD+RW disk with my website mirror as
the file names are too long, so I am attempting to find a workaround. I've
tried "dvd=rw-format -force /dev/sr0" to format the disk and then burn the
Trisquel iso file to the disk with Brasero to obtain a bootable Trisquel
Live-DVD, but when I use "growisofs -M /dev/sr0 -R -J
/home/username/Websites/MirrorName" to add the website mirror to the DVD+RW,
the result is unbootable, although all the files for both are there.

When I try to use Brasero for the whole task, if I first burn the Trisquel
iso file to create a bootable Trisquel Live-DVD and then try to add the
website mirror as a data file, Brasero insists on erasing the disk first, and
I end up with just the website mirror and no Trisquel files. If I try to add
the Trisquel iso to the disk that has the website mirror files on it, again
Brasero wants to obliterate the website mirror files. It looks to me as
though there is no such thing as adding files to a DVD+RW disk with Brasero
... even though the "leave disk open for adding files" box is pre-checked.

The only possible solution that I can see is to create a Live-USB flash drive
and use that to boot into Trisquel Live and then to use the workaround
described earlier in this thread to bypass the X-d out status of the CDROM
holding the website mirror.
