Agreed. Abrowser is all you need!

I use openbox it's the one of the fastest :)

One difference is that Abrowser is always based on the latest version of Firefox (currently FF 61), while Icecat is based on Firefox ESR (currently FF 52, soon to transition to FF 60, see here[2] for more info on FF ESR). Icecat also comes with LibreJS installed. LibreJS is an addon that by default blocks all JavaScript that is not detected as free software unless you specifically choose to allow it. [Trisquel-users] Xiphos won't install and question about IceCat
Hi guys, I started using Linux back in 2015 after reading how Windows was going downhill in various forums. I've messed around with a number of distros and am now giving Trisquel a try after reading about the free software movement. So far I've installed everything I've wanted to, however when I try to install Xiphos, I get a "broken package error". I tried Bibletime but it won't even select in the software center. I tried synapic package manager and this is the error I get: Depends: xiphos-data but it is not going to be installed Depends: libbiblesync1.1 (>1.1.2-0) but it is not installable Depends: libgsf-1-114 but it is not going to be installed Depends: libsword11v5 but it is not going to be installed Any idea on how to fix that? Also I've been messing around with Abrowser and everything is good so far, I've even installed Pale Moon to test and it functions fine. However I see Gnu Icecat in synaptic and installed it. Just thought I'd ask what is the difference between Icecat and Abrowser?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Why MATE?
SuperTramp, your image in my head is automatically associated to XFCE.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Why MATE?
XFCE is faster and more lightweight on netbooks. I have HP Mininote 2133, so I can tell the difference. Mate is almost unusable while XFCE works so-so. LXDE is acceptable.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Why MATE?
>XFCE is also a bit slower than MATE, in my experience. Absolutely untrue and quite the contrary in my experience.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Why MATE?
Interesting, I have the opposite experience. It seems to me that Mate is a bit heavier than xfce. I guess at the end it's about the user experience you get with either of those DEs, since performance is not an issue on my thinkpad t400s
Re: [Trisquel-users] Freedom Decrypted Show Zero: Plus interview with Ruben on Trisquel 8
My point is that nobody should have to.

Me too. LAS 200, Alex Jones and RT. I'm not sure how to solve the problem of the rift between the networks used by the general population and the networks used by us. All I have is: * telephone * SMS * MAYBE email (if the person isn't too young)
Re: [Trisquel-users] Freedom Decrypted Show Zero: Plus interview with Ruben on Trisquel 8
It is not true of MP4. GNOME Videos won't play YouTube videos in Fedora, because whoever worked on Videos decided it was a good idea to only fetch MP4 and provide no way of fetching WebM.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Freedom Decrypted Show Zero: Plus interview with Ruben on Trisquel 8
Why does that MP4 take so long to download? Do you not have a nice, small WebM?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Re : The "install extension" link on the wiki-page for the Abrowser addon "Random Agent Spoofer" not working for me
"Allow" was quietly accepted and rejected.

Oh, show me your Emacs config! :D :D :D

I've been moving the patch files to my desktop, archiving them as .tar.xz, and and attaching them to an email to the author.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Why MATE?
XFCE is also a bit slower than MATE, in my experience.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Minimised Windows
Mumble does that. Configure > Settings > User Interface > Tray Icon > [ ] Hide in tray when minimized (UNcheck) > Apply
Re: [Trisquel-users] Minimised Windows
Yes, that did it. Thanks!
Re: [Trisquel-users] Minimised Windows
I think you have lost your window list app in the panel. It can be added back.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Minimised Windows
loldier, the windows do not get minimised to the bottom, as you show in your picture. When I click on a window's minimise button, the window's outline appears and it "closes" to the bottom, but there's no panel in the "panel area".
Re: [Trisquel-users] Minimised Windows
If you right click on the panel at the bottom of the screen what options do you see, do you see a list of options starting with task bar windows settings or add remove panel items
Re: [Trisquel-users] Minimised Windows
A minimized window stays on the workspace where it was minimized. You can right-click and select "always on visible workspace".
Re: [Trisquel-users] Ethernet Not Working
Great, I'm glad the issue is resolved.
[Trisquel-users] Minimised Windows
In Trisquel 8, when I minimise a window, it seems to disappear, though, in reality, it's still there because I can retrieve it via the program switcher. How can I have the window go to the panel at the bottom, so when I want to retrieve it, I simply click on it.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Ethernet Not Working
I believe that I solved the issue. What I did was to lock the connection to the network device specified by both its interface name and permanent MAC address. Sometimes the issue reappears if I reboot/shutdown the computer, but when I disconnect and reconnect the ethernet cable, it is resolved.
