Re: [Trisquel-users] Xiphos won't install and question about IceCat
It looks like running bleachbit with "URL history" selected in the "Icecat" section deletes "~/.mozilla/icecat/.default/places.sqlite" which is the file containing your bookmarks. To avoid this, deselect "URL history" before running. signature.asc Description: PGP signature
[Trisquel-users] Thinkpad T400s Libreboot | drivers don't load
I recetly flashed a T400s with libreboot and installed Trisquel GNU/Linux. It all seems to work great exept for one thing. Whe I power up the computer, it seems like some of the drivers don't start (wifi card es not active and can't use the fn keys). If I reboot the unit everything works perfect. I've tested this and all the times I power up the computer I see this behaviour. I'd appreciate any comments or any suggestions on how to troubleshoot thi issue. Thank you
[Trisquel-users] Re : Weird output when trying to update
Or, graphically, use "Software & Updates" in MATE's "Control Center".
[Trisquel-users] Re : Unity desktop broken in Fildas
a_slacker_here needs, for instance, to compress the script before attaching it. In this way, we could download it.
[Trisquel-users] Re : OPENBOX IN TRISQUEL
Openbox is a window manager, not a whole desktop environment. For a minimal system with Openbox, download the NetInstall on https://trisquel.info/download (click on "More" first), create, boot and install and install it following https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/installation-guide and, once done, execute: $ sudo apt install openbox Do the same for all other programs you want.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Gaming console type controller to use on desktop?
Use QJoypad to make any gamepad mimic the keyboard and mouse. It's the best GNU/Linux program I know of for this task. You can set it up however you need, and you can have multiple profiles for e.g. different games and different controllers.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Gaming console type controller to use on desktop?
The Linux joystick driver makes all controllers look the same to software (e.g. games); they're gaming controllers (sometimes called "joysticks"). No extra software is needed; the Linux joystick driver is a part of Linux. One program you might be interested in installing, though, is "jstest-gtk"; this program gives you a graphical interface for testing your gamepads, and I think for calibrating them too. Some gaming controllers advertise special features that require some sort of proprietary Windows junk, e.g. they might advertise support for binding to keys when they really just mean that they offer a proprietary program that does so on Windows (it's the same sort of program QJoypad is). But in nearly all cases, such features are optional and you can use the controllers as standard gamepads, including on Linux systems.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Gaming console type controller to use on desktop?
These types of adapters are typically just recognized as USB-HID joysticks. No special software needed, you just use them. I have such a SNES controller adapter myself.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Gaming console type controller to use on desktop?
Also, What about software and controllers? The gaming type of controllers on the market like Reazer and all that, are there any software to speak of? If I just connect them with the USB there shouldn't be any software right?
Re: [Trisquel-users] The "install extension" link on the wiki-page for the Abrowser addon "Random Agent Spoofer" not working for me
Oh right! I understand! Haha I misinterpreted you, I understand. Those two wiki pages should be removed, but the Disconnect wiki page should be corrected with the link you gave now :) Cheers!
Re: [Trisquel-users] The "install extension" link on the wiki-page for the Abrowser addon "Random Agent Spoofer" not working for me
I'm sorry I don't quite understand what you're telling me. So the install link on the Disconnect wiki page should be corrected, yes?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Gaming console type controller to use on desktop?
Cool! :) Even adapter for all types of retro controller, neat :) But I don't understand, is it a hardware adapter but also software?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Gaming console type controller to use on desktop?
Great! But will they work as a substitute for the mouse or will they just be a feature of a game? To explain what I plan to do: I'd like to use a gaming type controller when playing on the Pokémon Showdown website https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/ But on their website there seems to be no support for a gaming controller setup. So maybe one can replace the function of the mouse with a gaming type of controller? Will this possible? Onpon4 mentioned some sort of software that maybe will make this work. Do you have xperience on this?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Xiphos won't install and question about IceCat
I have another question about Icecat, I tried using it and saved several bookmarks-then I closed the browser and ran bleachbit like I always do. Later on when I opened Icecat-the bookmarks were gone! How do I prevent that in the future?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Firefox Add-ons for Abrowser
Yeah, they're compatible, no problem. In fact Trisquel's addon database often just links directly to download links from the Mozilla addons database. Just check to make sure it's libre and you're good.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Firefox Add-ons for Abrowser
I've installed AdBlock Plus (be sure to uncheck acceptable ads in the options) as well as HTTPS everywhere, Privacy Badger and No Script. No issues so far.
Re: [Trisquel-users] VS Code is free software?
VS Code is Microsoft's stuff. When you install it, it immediately starts to send your data to Microsoft, only after that is asks "Whould like to continue send data to Microsoft?" You should avoid Microsoft stuff as it was fire. MICROSOFT NEVER GIVES SOMETHING FREE! Just always remember this.

MATE uses Marco.
[Trisquel-users] Firefox Add-ons for Abrowser
Since Abrowser is based on Firefox, the latter's add-ons ought to work in Abrowser. Am I right? If yes, is there an issue installing libre Firefox add-ons in Abrowser, instead of going through Abrowser's add-ons manager?
