I think there is a branding issue with the title. Trisquel uses Linux-Libre  
kernel instead of Linux kernel. Therefore, Trisquel should be branded or  
titled as GNU/Linux-Libre; not just GNU/Linux. For example, Dragora  
GNU/Linux-Libre uses the right title.

Thanks! I was actually preferring it. I read some instructions to do  
NetInstall, but I found it confusing. How would I choose GNOME instead of  
MATE during installation process?

Thanks! Yes, I can use commands in terminal. Is it safe to use that  
repository? Because I don't want any non-free parts getting installed on my  
device.

I want to remove MATE completely, that is, including all it's associated  
packages and software suite. Then I want to install GNOME completely, that  
is, all associated packages and software suite that comes with it. Please  
provide me step wise instructions as I have not done this before. Thank you

Thanks all for the reply. So there won't be any issues if I change my Desktop  
Environment right? Because I heard about compatibility factor to consider for  
each Distro. Also are all DE free as in freedom? Thanks.

KDE is more feature rich and customizable than MATE. Why MATE as default  
desktop environment instead of KDE? Am I missing something?

[Trisquel-users] BUG: Trisquel goes into "Log-In Loop" every time after installing new "Trisquel Base" updates.

Trisquel goes into "Log-In Boot Loop" every time after installing new  
"Trisquel Base" updates. I had to re-install "lightdm" package via TTY; every  
time after log-in loop. Any tweaks or fix for this?

Why made MATE as default instead of other DE? May be XFCE?
