[Trisquel-users] no sound playback or volume issue

I have an onboard sound chipset -- I5 6600k and Gigabyte z170x-Gaming 3 rev  
1.1
I have installed trisquel 7 with the lastest updates, but have no sound,  
tried an ogg file I seem to have the drivers recognized, but i hear nothing.  
Volume control seems normal. Please help.
 I am connected through 3.5 mm jack directly into the motherboard. I've tried  
the 2.1 speakers and normal stereo headphones and nothing. Also checked  
pulseaudio it seems to be working somehow. It is not on mute.

Kernel version is 4.13
