Re: [Trisquel-users] Help me come up with a name for this Trisquel fork.
What about LibrePod. Like Cephalopod but free. Or Free! (as in Free-bang). Or stick with symbolism with ν!. The lowercase version of the Greek letter Nu, which would mean "Degree of Freedom" bang ... LoL or just free-bang. Anyway, I am interested in the idea (whether you like my suggestions or not). I do like openbox. How can I find out more about the project?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Flyer Ideas about distributed computing
Looks and sounds great!! Only two tiny things. You may want to add a break between the second and third paragraphs to match the rest. Also, you might want to make the "for more information" urls actual hyperlinks like the others. Nevertheless great job! *note: my comments are only applicable to the english version since I can only read english.*
Re: [Trisquel-users] Advertising Trisquel & FLOSS
The LibreSoftware approach is great. However, to appeal to new users (especially migrating users) there needs to be some marketing as what the Distro can do for them. For example, I saw a reddit thread where many users were under the impression that a Libre Distro was useless because you couldn't even listen to music, watch youtube, etc. So in that vein, I would think a "Mythbusting" infographic on what Trisquel can do out of the box for the average user would be a good marketing tool. Something like: What Can Trisquel Do for You?
Re: [Trisquel-users] DRM may be added to JPEG format in the future
I am not sure there is a way to restrict a screenshot ... is there? Most screenshot programs simply take a screen scrape on whatever is on screen. As far as I know, screenshot tools are software agnostic and take whatever is on the monitor(s).

Re: [Trisquel-users] A quick Smash & Grab Wallpaper Enjoy
Found it on this blog. I assumed it was. Now that you bring it up. Not sure.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Netflix/Hulu?
Thanks for the reply. Forgive my ignorance, but what is TPB?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Netflix/Hulu?
Intetesting. What about library utilized services such as Overdrive and Zinio?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Advertising Trisquel & FLOSS
Feel free to post this on the marketing wiki

Re: [Trisquel-users] Netflix/Hulu?
So, a follow up to my initial question... How is a Libre OS ever going to go mainstream if the only options for basic streaming and entertainment are illegal ones?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Netflix/Hulu?
Thanks

[Trisquel-users] Netflix/Hulu?
As everyone knows, I am fairly new here (to trisquel and to Libre Software in general). My question, were do Netflix and Hulu fall in the grand scheme of libre software? (I am thinking netflix is not due to the silverlight/pipelight requirement.) If they are not permitted, what alternatives do others use?
[Trisquel-users] Spam ... Spam Everywhere!
Ok so maybe not everywhere. However, it does seem like spammers have taken a liking to the forums. Is there a way to report these guys to remove the spammy topics. I do not see an obvious way to do that. If there is not a current way to do so, could we implement one before it gets out of hand? --Dennis
Re: [Trisquel-users] Atrack developers to Trisquel
I have always been a fan of advertising. (attached) :)
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
Corrected the typos. I will add the new GNOME logo when I get in tonight and repost.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Spam ... Spam Everywhere!
Done!
Re: [Trisquel-users] Modernizing the Trisquel forums
It would be nice if each of the language categories broken out into topic-based sub categories. Something like: News Feedback Support Marketing/Media Content Documentation Content General Or some variation of those.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Quebes + Whonix
Here is the explanation why you do not see Debian listed. http://www.gnu.org/distros/common-distros.en.html I cannot really comment on the others.
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
Updated
Re: [Trisquel-users] I moved my DE to XFCE! How does one safely remove old GNOME parts?
I am not sure, but I am inclined to think that a sudo apt-get remove --purge gnome-* should do the trick. However, I would feel better if someone could validate that. I know if you will do a sudo apt-get remove --purge gnome-* -s it will show you what it will remove without actually doing it.
[Trisquel-users] Just some Simple Trisquel Propaganda
This is just a quick little flyer I worked up. I posted in another thread, but thought I would post here in case someone wanted to use it.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Modernizing the Trisquel forums
The Bodhi Linux folks have a pretty decent forum.
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
As promised. Attached is the updated version with feedback included. Also attached is the .sla (source) file used to create the .pdf. The .sla is a Scribus file. Feel free to post where ever you all see fit. --Dennis
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
Thanks!
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
I'll post the .SLA when post the second draft.
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
Are talking about specific verbiage within the document or are you talking about the document in general?
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
Yes per lap4fsf I have removed the Ubuntu Logo and will added a Creative Commons License. I will re-post the updated version tonight.
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
That's the intent. :)
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
When I get this one out, I will probably make a couple variations of it. Thanks for the links, I am sure I will use them.
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
Glad you like and thanks for the feedback (Ubuntu Kernelha I know better. I shouldn't stay up so late. :) ). I have made most of the updates already. I will apply the Creative Commons license and re-post the updated version along with the .sla file tonight. If there are any other such projects going on, I am always willing to help.
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3-panel Brocure draft
Thanks!
Re: [Trisquel-users] Atrack developers to Trisquel
I thought Stack Overflow had an OpenSource Ad section for just such a thing?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Advertising Trisquel & FLOSS
I am willing to help. I am currently working on a marketing slick/flyer as stated in a previous post. I should have a little something later in the week.

[Trisquel-users] How Can I help?
How can I help the project? I am not a programmer, but I am a Technical Writer by trade. I can write technical documentation, marketing slicks, video tutorials, etc. I do not have much cash, but I am willing to donate my time and skills! I think Trisquel is one of the better distros/prjects out there. I agree with the philosophy and the approach. Yet, unfortunately, not as well known as the others (95 on Distrowatch :/). Let me know how I can help in the most effective way. DennisD
Re: [Trisquel-users] How Can I help?
This I could do. Let me work up a few ideas.
