Re: [Trisquel-users] kobo ereader
Hello, I think all kobo devices are non-free, however depending on the one you have you can use this https://github.com/lgeek/okreader I use it on a kobo mini that I bought a long time ago, it works very nice, indeed much better than the original one in terms of performance and you can use bigger SD cards, but it is alpha software so some care is necessary. Anyway, the problem here is the proprietary firmware for the wifi, which I believe you can completely remove if you build the image yourself. Here is a list of possible freedom issues https://github.com/lgeek/okreader/issues/9 unfortunately this question went unanswered. I think for eink devices (in fact for ebook readers, not considering tablets) this is the best option you have for any device.
[Trisquel-users] SiFive and lowrisc
I have been following RISC-V and lowrisc development for some time now with much interest, and I totally missed SiFive https://www.sifive.com/ the "official" SoC from the RISC-V developers, looks really good, I think it is totally free, any thoughts on it? You can buy one already for 59$.
Re: [Trisquel-users] What is the replacement of bootstrap and angularJS in software free/libre
What you mean? As far as I know all these are libre/free software, bootstrap and AngularJS are under MIT license and typescript under Apache license.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Brazilian bank online access
wow Magic Banana, thank you! I was having the same problem and now I can access it again, this problem is occurring in all my machines with different distros though, I'll have to test it in them as well, but I think the problem is the same as all used to work before.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Twister
Yes, I use it, I liked it more than gnusocial, but gnusocial has many more users
Re: [Trisquel-users] iwlist scan problem
Another update, I found out that putting the router right beside the machine makes it recognize the network, but the signal is very weak and that is suboptimal, is it possible to fix this or I have to get another wifi card?
Re: [Trisquel-users] iwlist scan problem
there is my home network, for instance the notebook I'm using to write this is in the same room, and there is another one, and cellphones, all get my home network.
[Trisquel-users] iwlist scan problem
Hello I have an eeebox pc EB1033, it has a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter. It is recognized by trisquel and if I do iwconfig it shows as wlan0. Doing ifconfig wlan0 it is shown as up, however when I try to scan for networks using # iwlist wlan0 s it returns No scan results. I tried removing it and plugging again but to no avail.
Re: [Trisquel-users] iwlist scan problem
I just noticed it is exactly the same card I have in a notebook of mine with trisquel 7 in it, and it works flawlessly.
Re: [Trisquel-users] thinkpad x200 not external monitor not working
Dragora works with libreboot, I have a x60 running Dragora, never tried vga on TV, but it worked with a video projector.
Re: [Trisquel-users] I'm missing the community that was available when using nonfree software

Re: [Trisquel-users] Best Libre os for a old computer?
You could try this one, is an awesome distro http://rlsd.dimakrasner.com/ I don't know why it is not in the FSF distro, maybe the author didn't asked it, seems even the kernel is linux libre.
Re: [Trisquel-users] A possible plan to fork Debian to avoid systemd
I don't think the fork will solve the problem, anyway a balanced position on why proponents of systemd will never get along with opponents of systemd http://uselessd.darknedgy.net/ProSystemdAntiSystemd/ and here is a list of common fallacies that proponents of systemd using http://judecnelson.blogspot.com.br/2014/09/systemd-biggest-fallacies.html including an explanation of why the joke in fedorafork is not valid.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Allow switching between kernels in GRUB
Is this true? This is completely agaisnt free software philosophy, I can't understand why they would make such and addition.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Goodbye Abrowser, Long Live Abrowser
Think I haven't made myself clear enough. I do know there are new versions in trisquel (although I mainly use Dragora) My questions is: why Ruben's name doesn't appear on gnuzilla website as comantainer? Also gnuzilla ftp doesn't have icecat 30 yet. It seems like a trisquel exclusive for now, I just wanted to know what is the status, not if I can donwload it by any means, it should be more visible so more people can be aware of this wonderful news. Best regards.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Goodbye Abrowser, Long Live Abrowser
Sorry to ressurect this post, but what is the status on this? I don't see any news on gnuzilla site regarding updates or something.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to found a Free Software company?
I also want to have such company but I need more study first, being from Brazil too I share the fears of ADFENO. Here in Belem we have jambutec that (theoretically) are dedicated to use free software, but they endorse ubuntu and are certified by them, which makes me worried about their ethos, they also simple ignored an email by asking about enternishp without even a simple reply.I think it is very difficult to find a company that is 100% free in any part of the world not only in Brazil. My idea is that decentralization is the way to go, it is to hard to find supporter only locally and it is a major let down for people outside of great centers, I see most jobs offered to work with free software are to work in loco, this way we simple waste many great talents eager to work with free software, because they live in less favored places, like here in Brazil.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't find syslinux folder

Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't find syslinux folder

Re: [Trisquel-users] free save formats -- list
I don't know about all these formats, but here http://libreprojects.net there are a lot of projects that should use them so maybe you can find about
