Re: [Trisquel-users] Compiz on Thinkpad T400 hardware
If battery life is more important, try Draco Desktop. In my experience its lighter than XFCE. Also LXQT I wonder if it is lighter than LXDE-GTK3 from AUR. hmm... but yeah, I will link it for you if you are interested. https://github.com/rodlie/draco

Thanks guys. I don't use my T400 with a battery any more and I can probably do without the special effects. The default Trisquel appearance pleasant enough.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Compiz on Thinkpad T400 hardware
T400's GM45 integrated graphics is good enough. But I'd like to keep the desktop environment as simple as possible. Battery life is far more important.

The T400's integrated graphics should definitely be good enough for at least some of the effects. It probably depends on which and how many effects you enable. signature.asc Description: PGP signature
[Trisquel-users] Compiz on Thinkpad T400 hardware
Can I get Compiz, with its special graphical effects for the desktop, on Trisquel 8? Is there a GUI to turn on/off particular effects like there was on Ubuntu when I tried that OS years ago? Is it worth using this on Thinkpad T400 hardware or is it not worth it because it's resource intensive? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compiz
