How do I add an applet when my panel is full? Usually I can add applets on a  
blank space on the panel.

Do you mean the panel applet that shows the workspaces on your desktop?

Press  ALT and Right Click


Alt+right click and close.

How do I remove it? It takes up so much space and I find it hard to switch  
between windows. My eyes are getting tired from alt+ tab-bing


How do I create a panel?

ALT + Right click on an empty space on current panel or maybe just  Right click 
would also do
