Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Looks like the TEP wiki is coming along nicely. I just checked back yesterday and saw some changes.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Hey MySelf, I made an account on your wiki. I can help with writing/editing. I don't really know where to start. Let me know if I can help with something.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Then it looks to be a 64-bit specific issue since I'm getting the following error message when I try to start the application: ./Popcorn-Time: symbol lookup error: ./Popcorn-Time: undefined symbol: g_type_class_adjust_private_offset
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Much the same thing here[1] was an out of date glib. If you're running 32-bit on 64-bit it _might_ be a missing library. [1] https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=170648
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
I tried to run the 64-bit version natively, making the 32-bit version working using multi-arch will be too much trouble and it's not worth the effort. Also, dealing with core system libraries is not what I would like to do if it's not essential. By accessing my sister's computer, I was able to try the 32-bit version which crashed during the startup. (this isn't something unexpected as she have only ~100MB space left in home folder and _lots_ of outdated packages) The previous version works great so I've currently no reason to deal with this issue.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Outstanding mYself, your effort is impresive to say the least. ¿Do you allow me to add a good free programs to your wiki? I would want to add The mana world an other good programs.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Google Translate: I only speak Spanish, but, as I understand, is a database with the information necessary to install many useful programs that are not yet in the repositories. I thank you, it has helped me a lot, just today. In its current state, yes. However, this is expected to be just a documentation part of a bigger whole. While Trisquel 6.0 was planned to have a community-backports repository, this was actually never happened so this should be seen as a compensation of some kind.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
I approve! ;-) Just one quick question: How do you measure the progress of your project? As far as I understand it, it is just a documentation effort, which doesn't seem to be very measurable.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Thank you for the information about Popcorn Time. Since I'm subscribed to their mailing list, I expected to be notified about this new release. I tried to upgrade to 0.3.3 Beta but, according to this post, this requires a never version of glibc library which is not available in Trisquel 6.0. Since this doesn't affect the current stable version of Trisquel, I'm going to postpone this until Belenos gets released.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
You're free to do so, however, please avoid contributing bloat of any kind as I would like to keep the list short and simple (it's not meant to be a comprehensive list of all free software games and programs - there's the Free Software Directory for that purpose). I'm very picky about what applications should be included and provided support for.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
There are planned features and milestones, so the versioning tries to reflect this. It's not a strict documentation in its definition.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Acknowledged
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Which version did you tried, the 32-bit or the 64-bit one?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Awesome man; and thanks for the indirect tip on Openmailbox project! ;D Time to get rid of Google Inc. remnants.. Footnote: PopcornTime hosts now its sources due to geopolitical agenda in their own Git repo and since version 3.3 Beta it requires the host to have ttf-mscorefonts-installer present with proprietary fonts in order to successfully agree their EULA on first app run. Good luck in Y2k15, in whatever projects you steer.

See the announcement here.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
It looks like a great resource; I'll take a closer look this weekend.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Enhancement Project reaches version 0.1 alpha milestone
Solo hablo español, pero, según entiendo, es una base de datos, con la información necesaria para instalar muchos programas útiles que aun no están en los repositorios. Te agradezco, me ha servido bastante, justo hoy.
