Since this thread, Riseup has added an apt repository (so Snap is no longer the only recommended method), and this repository appears to contain source packages as well as binary packages.[1] > Technically, it should be available through Ubuntu or Debian, or how > else would they provide it through their repos? They don't provide it through their repos. > If I'm not mistaken, they require source code, too. It is possible to have an apt repository which only includes binary packages, not source packages. Debian and Ubuntu do include both though. [1] http://deb.leap.se/client/pool/buster/r/riseup-vpn/ signature.asc Description: PGP signature

"You could instead compile it yourself, but I can't find the source code anywhere." Those of us who want to us it could write to Riseup and ask for the source code. Technically, it should be available through Ubuntu or Debian, or how else would they provide it through their repos? If I'm not mistaken, they require source code, too.

You must user their own app as I read but it's just a fork of Bitmask, then, you could configure it in other client but I don't think that follows OpenVPN definition.

Do they provide OpenVPN configurations for their new service? In my experience most VPN services do, but I don't see it anywhere. signature.asc Description: PGP signature

That's annoying. You could instead compile it yourself, but I can't find the source code anywhere. You don't need their client to use their servers, though, if you use OpenVPN[1] instead. > Any suggestions for another vpn in case?
