Marlin, I have prayed for you and your family to be healed. It would help if
you would see a doctor about taking an antibiotic for your probable strep
throat.

Help superbugs become more resistant? Help to disobey
Scripture?

Hello friends.

I've been knocked out for a couple of days with a flew
that came in via relatives from another state. My wife has a particular
blood type that is resistant to illness, she is very blessed in this way.
Her body temperature is also generally a degree or two below the norm. Go
figure.

The rest of us, me and the children, have all been hit
severely with it. Right now, it is all I can do to swallow my saliva
because of the intensity of pain in my throat. Irequest
prayersfor wellness in my family.

It is interesting to find that there are people involved
with health care on this forum, some "orthodox" others, not. I for one
lean toward the most natural means possible when confronted with health
problems.

I happen to be fellowshipping at this time among the
Seventh Day Adventists. They run a local hospital. They
have"orthodox" accredited doctors and yet lean toward natural remedies.
They also favor vegetarianism and this comes out in their teachings both in
health care and in fellowship, although it is said not to be a doctrine.
One of their hospitals tried to transplant the heart of a baboon into a
baby.

Healings in the bible, in spite of reference to the
physician, Luke, do not seem toresemble to the health professions of
today, "orthodox" or not.

ACS 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth

1PE 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins
in his own body on the tree,
that we,
being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by
whose
stripes ye were healed.

JAM 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to
another, and pray one for
another,
that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of
a
righteous
man availeth much.

There are some that the Lord chooses not to

not.ACS 28:25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they
departed,
after that
Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by
Esaias the
prophet unto our fathers,ACS 28:26 Saying, Go unto this people,
and say, Hearing ye shall hear,
and shall
not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
ACS 28:27 For the heart of this people is
waxed gross, and their ears
are dull
of hearing, and their eyes have they
closed; lest they
should see
with [their] eyes, and hear with [their] ears, and
understand
with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should
heal
them.
ACS 28:28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the

received
all that came in unto him,

Marlin, I have prayed for

taking an antibiotic for your probable strep throat. If you have strep, it can
turn into much more serious things if you dont kill the germs(especially
in children). Oh, for your natural ingredients: add chicken soup! Izzy

Sorry Marlin, that you have been ill and hope you are on the road to feeling better. They say that flu is nasty. I have heard that hot lemonade or pineapple juice is helpful! Laura

Sabbath Greetings Marlin in the
Matchless Name of YahShua !!

For future reference ...

Echinacea tincture (I prefer angustifolia although purpurea is very
effective for many ... pallida and other varieties I have found to be less
reliable)

The glycerite form from Dr. John Christopher is somewhat sweet tasting and
is easier for most to take.

At FIRST sign of flu take 30 drops (about a dropper full) of echinacea
tincture AND 20 drops of lobelia tincture EVERY TWO HOURS. (I make my own
lobelia tincture from organic lobelia and organic apple cider vinegar ... it's
THE BEST ... takes about two weeks ... just finished a batch a couple of weeks
ago.)

The key to success with echinacea is ONLY use it when first feeling run
down (cold, flu, etc.). THEN you must use it frequently. Successful
studies (and in practice on my part for years) show that 180 drops or more in a
day knocks out viral complaints in short order. Strange thing is that less
than 180 drops doesn't have just a lesser effect depending upon how much less
you use than 180 drops, but rather less than 180 drops pretty much has little or
no discernable effect at all. Go figure.

No home should be without tinctures of lobelia and echinacea.

As for sore throat ... I have yet to discover the sore throat that could
survive against Olbas throat lozenges. They are TOUGH. Some people
can't even get through a whole one ... me included. On the rare occasion I
have sore throat trouble I only get through about half a lozenge. They are
POWERFUL.

Slippery elm bark is also wonderful in these regards. Mix a little
with a little hot water and it makes a mucilaginous gruel. It is pretty
bland. It is also soothing and nourishing. Soothes a sore throat and
an irritated stomach. Can be flavored with a touch of honey, lemon,
nutmeg, ginger or cinnamon. It is more soothing and more nourishing than
the saltine crackers folks tend to rely on when stricken with flu.

Slippery elm gruel will often stay down when nothing else will.

"... herb for the service of man" Psalm
104:14

Also, thanks for the Scriptures noted.

Shabbat Shalom!
