Re: DAS M3 Release
Hi Haleh, I have modified http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TUSCANY/RDB+DAS+Releases on similar lines to SCA. Please take a look and change/give comment wherever required. The latest release links are non-working right now, will need to update with the actual links when release is ready. After review, we can scrap the old content at the bottom of this page. Its looking really good to me. One comment is IMHO it would be better to not have the all those points about whats in the release on this page but to leave them to only be in the RELEASE_NOTES and try to summarize the important points just in a sentence or two where the sentence starting This release represents... is now. The link to the RELEASE_NOTES is right there on the next line anyway and this is a download page where people come to download things, with all those points there even on a not that small a screen the actual download links get pushed off the bottom of the page so they're not visible. ...ant On 6/6/07, Amita Vadhavkar [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi Haleh, I have modified http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TUSCANY/RDB+DAS+Releases on similar lines to SCA. Re: DAS M3 Release
The original idea I had was to have two pages, one would list the evolution of DAS releases, and what features were introduced in each one [1], and possible links to more detailed information about the feature or a direct link to user guide. We had a download page, but looks like that got moved to sandbox during the wiki cleanup[2]. Is there any reason why we want modify [1] to serve as the download page, instead of updating [2] or creating new download pages ? Other then that, looks good. Hi Haleh, Thank you for the comments. I am working on it and will put the updated content in 1-2 days. Also, I am working on Java RDB DAS ArchitectureGuide. It is still a word doc and Design Details section not yet complete. I am just attaching it here for the first look. Great... I'll take a quick look and try to help reviewing the list of JIRAS based on what I have worked on since M2. Amita, it would be great if you could review this wiki page either [1] or [2] and add the features you mentioned you worked on or are about to finish and would like to have on the next release. Also, I have moved the page on the wiki, to be a child of the RDB DAS and below is the new link [2]. Re: DAS M3 Release
Hi, I've listed the opened JIRAs for Java DAS on [1]. I need a feedback of which JIRA should be resolved before the Java DAS M3 release and which postponed for next one. I will be helping Amita on this research too ; ). I also listed on [1] the JIRAs for Java DAS that were resolved after last release. This list will probably be made the Java DAS M3 key features. Let me know if any feature not listed should be included on or some listed feature should be removed from. Also, it will really helpful to get your perspective about what all can be the key features, any pending JIRAs which can add value to this release, any must JIRA which need to be newly added. I am going to research too on this front. Appreciate your comments. Couple things I would like to help for our next release: - Review MySQL Support Sample - Automate creation of Canned databases for DAS Samples (TUSCANY-863) Documentation - Continue to work on DAS User's guide - Migrate it to new wiki and investigate the possibility to add to the release package Infrastructure - Automate release distribution process Once we agree on a set of items for our next release, we then could start tracking the release progress on our wiki. Re: Tuscany DAS M3 Release Plans
Hey Ron We have talked about it in the past in some threads, and i think we need to bring the subject back now that we have more content available for a DAS release. I think we could start by looking into our wiki [1] and review/update the list of things we want for DAS M3, and also use [2] to document our release process. I'll kick-off the process on the dev-list sometime by end of the week, and ask for volunteers for Release Manager. Hi, Am I correct that the existing DAS M2 release will be incompatible with the upcoming SDO M3 release? - Ron - Original Message From: Luciano Resende [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: tuscany-user@ws.apache.org Cc: tuscany-dev tuscany-dev@ws.apache.org Sent: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 5:23:50 PM Subject: Re: Tuscany DAS M3 Release Plans Hey Ron We have talked about it in the past in some threads, and i think we need to bring the subject back now that we have more content available for a DAS release. Re: Tuscany DAS M3 Release Plans
As long as you regenerate static SDO using M3 sdo generator, I think there should be no incompatibility between DAS M2 and SDO M3.
