Re: DAS M3 Release

2007-06-06 Thread Amita Vadhavkar

Hi Haleh,
I have modified
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TUSCANY/RDB+DAS+Releases on
similar lines to SCA. Please take a look and change/give comment wherever
required. The
latest release links are non-working right now, will need to update with the
actual links when release is ready.
After review, we can scrap the old content at the bottom of this page.

Regards,
Amita

I can help with this if others are OK.

Its looking really good to me. One comment is IMHO it would be better to not
have the all those points about whats in the release on this page but to
leave them to only be in the RELEASE_NOTES and try to summarize the
important points just in a sentence or two where the sentence starting This
release represents... is now. The link to the RELEASE_NOTES is right there
on the next line anyway and this is a download page where people come to
download things, with all those points there even on a not that small a
screen the actual download links get pushed off the bottom of the page so
they're not visible.

2007-06-06 Thread Luciano Resende

The original idea I had was to have two pages, one would list the
evolution of DAS releases, and what features were introduced in each
one [1], and possible links to more detailed information about the
feature or a direct link to user guide.

We had a download page, but looks like that got moved to sandbox
during the wiki cleanup[2].

Is there any reason why we want modify [1] to serve as the download
page, instead of updating [2] or creating new download pages ? Other
then that, looks good.

Hi Haleh,
Thank you for the comments. I am working on it and will put the updated
content in 1-2
days.

Also, I am working on Java RDB DAS ArchitectureGuide. It is still a word doc
and Design Details section not yet complete. I am just attaching it here for
the first look. It will be helpful to get everybody's perspective about
what should/should not be there , before putting under wiki. I am checking
SCA Architecture Guide too.

It looks like that this sample is already in SVN. Does it make sense to
link
to SVN from the
doc instead of repeating each line of code. Then the 'getting started with
DAS' guide can be focused on explaining
what are the key setup pieces in the sample and what the purpose for each

Distribution build : mvn -Pdistribution

for this JIRA? I will try more and find

Great...

I'll take a quick look and try to help reviewing the list of JIRAS based
on what I have worked on since M2. Amita, it would be great if you could
review this wiki page either [1] or [2] and add the features you mentioned
you worked on or are about to finish and would like to have on the next
release.

Also, I have moved the page on the wiki, to be a child of the RDB DAS and
below is the new link [2].

We have talked about it in the past in some threads, and i think we need

As long as you regenerate static SDO using M3 sdo generator, I think there
should be no incompatibility between DAS M2 and SDO M3.
